I don't understand your comment at all because I've not mentioned PhysX in the slightest?

I could get one, seeing as it's pretty much 2x faster than my HD4850.

Earlier in the week, I was contemplating whether or not stretching to 5850 was worth it. Then I started thinking that what I really wanted was Vapor-X. But at £270 it's just ridiculous for me.

It's like Rich said, most "gamers" buy below £200. That's me. The last gaming card I bought was a 66GT and it was £150. That has always seemed about the right money to me, but with this thing, I'm tempted to stretch a little if I can find one with a quiet, efficient cooler.

I have to say, the 460 1GB looks pretty decent. Especially given the overclock on that Palit one

It looks to me from all the reviews like most of GF104 is being used in the GTX460, so a higher end revision wouldnt be GF104.

Hopefully those higher end revisions will be as good as GF104.

Well I must admit I am considering dumping my crossfire 5870's in favour of a couple of these and having a couple of hundred quid to spend??

    5870 crossfired blow these away

only thing that is close is the mad 480 setup in sli

470 in sli is only faster in 1 or 2 games

you would lose alot of performance for no reason at all

Right now the only 1 GB versions are Palits at Newegg.

So if one wants to buy a 1 GB version RIGHT NOW, then they should go to Evga.com and get a 1 GB version directly from them. At their site they are selling the 1 GB version with the external exhaust setup - a little bit louder than Nvidias stock setup at it costs $239.99

Now that's not true, and the price difference is massive.
    Price/performance....

I wouldn't weigh Anand's benches too heavily since their numbers seem to be off look at DIRT 2 benches (TechPowerUp vs Anandtech) the night/day performance for the 5970. There's some bottle necking occurring is what I want to say but not too sure since TPU is using the same CPU with a 15% OC.

Even if you gave a few frames away the result still looks amazing concidering the price difference.

I'm very tempted by the 786MB MSI Cyclone one. Especially as I am going to America soon, and Newegg has it for just about £140 ($210 USD).

I'll grab some RAM for this rig while I am at it. I just want something to add some spice to this computer, so I can keep it as a backup gaming rig while I build a more powerful one.
