i dont think people are arguing, most people are just voicing their opinion on the topic

 

Pookey, I still dont get what youre going on about. A picture discriminating against something is still discrimination no matter what the subject is. Whether you're making fun of women, men, muslims, christians, blacks, or whites, it is the same.

Jokes are simply jokes. Yes, I agree about your example of sexism, but the problem is, where do we draw the line? How is it possible? I don't think we can really specify what can and can't be posted (besides the obvious).

Some people have a more twisted sense of humor. I may find stuff that is super racist funny, and you may think it's childish. I just think it's funny. I am not racist at all, to me it's a joke.

I went through my album of pics I have posted. After around 200 pics I found two that might be questionable. What do you think of these?

If we could somehow have more specific rules of what can and cannot be posted. Maybe it would work. But in my opinion, the thread is NSFW for a reason. As long as there is no Porn or Gore (al gore is gross too), it's OK with me. But as I said that is only my opinion. If we could come up with a solution, it could work.

Maybe a new thread with very clear rules and example pics of what is deemed acceptable and unacceptable?

I dunno...


BTW I enjoy collecting these images and sharing them with you guys. I get a good laugh out of them when I find them. And none of these new pictures I have saved up would be questionable.

No it's not. People CHOOSE to believe in the zombie jesus, or any other make believe God. However, no one chooses to be what they are. You are born that way, and being made teh subject of ridicule for being what you are, is never really funny, clever, or something I can condone.

I've just drawn it for you. If it's human behaviour, or something that we choose to do, it's fair game, no matter how offended some people may get, especially religious people. It's a free country here, and if I want to laugh at someone for believing something I find ridiculous, so be it. However, laughing at someone because of who they are, that they have no choice in, nor can they do anything about is not funny and shows great immaturity.

I have a very twisted sense of humour... but don't laugh at people for their genetic make up, or if they are the victim of a crippling disease or genetic disorder, or whether they are a different colour than me. Mainly because it's rarely funny. That's not to say race can never be the subject of humour, because it can. I remember a post ridiculing black men who dress with their asses hanging out. That was funny. It wasn't racist. There's nothing inherent about being black that makes you want to have your pants falling down all the time. The prerequisite is stupidity, and that comes in all colours.

Again.. if you can't distinguish between the subtleties, I'm not the right person to argue with, because I'll no doubt keep confusing you Besides... demote is dead. let it go.

 

I allways kept away from that thread, Kinda reminded of a bunch of children playing with their selfs.

I agree, there was no fresh material there. It was just endless repeats of the same crap. Spiders, Eggs on Nails, Teeth etc etc. Turned the concept to crap imho.

 

I love the film Teeth. I almost pissed myself watching it.

Anywhere you bring up as much political incorrect-ness as that is a boiling pot for trouble, and as Hex said on page 5, it required stupid amounts of moderation.

Stupid amounts of moderation, to support a thread displaying most of the most socially unacceptable traits mankind has to offer.

There are a lot of demotivational websites. If you want a page dedicated to them which is moderated, and doesn't allow comments, I feel you should go visit one.

Me personally? I'm gonna concentrate on finding good places to use funny ones all over the forum now instead, with the intent people will smile.

I have now come to peace with it. I will definitely miss it but I won't be arguing in favor of a re-open anymore.
