Build Advice Another Gaming Budget Build (apologies)

Hey guys, Im new to posting on this forum but a fairly keen reader and fan of CustomPC. So anyways my apologies for posting yet another budget gaming build (theres so many) but here is my idea for a build and I would really appreciate it if anybody at all, tech-wise or not to give me an insight into this buid, if you do have any experience with any of the parts listed below please share them, along with any suggestions! *the build is based around the most recent affordable all-rounder*

My requirements for the computer:

• Be able to play Counter Strike: Source at a 16:9 ratio @ 1280 x 720, med-high settings on 10+ man games on all the reguler maps and average around 60fps.

• General web browsing (Google, Youtube, BBC IPlayer)

My main question is this build able to give me what im after? or will I have to start selling my relatives to increase my budget?

Please do note this is on a very tight budget as money is very scarce in my household so I cannot afford to go past £550 which is a shame but oh well...Im not bothered about having a bigger screen anyway, 20" is a massive upgrade compared with my 3 year old 17" screen.

when it gets around to building (hopefully in a few weeks) ill be sure to post pictures!

 

might as well get a 1080p monitor nowdays.. the 4890 will be fine for cs at any res- if your intent on playing 1280x720 might as well get an old crt (so your not playing outside native res)

otherwise it'll be blurry if your trying that full screen

 

May as well get a UCC mobo and run a X140 and then un-lock it to dual core and then overclock it.

That's a really, really nasty case.

Ebuyer are doing a deal on the CoolerMaster Elite 330 with a CoolerMaster eXtreme Power 460w PSU for £57.99.

Does that save you anything?

 

I would prefer to get a somewhat decent LCD screen to use in the future aswell as CRT monitors are slowly dieing out (in my opinion anyway), but thanks

From the research I've done the 4890 seems to put out very attractive frame rates for CS:S and is within my budget, the 5770 does not have much in the way of improvement (and according to the majority of benchmarks) is actually worse when pitted against the 4890 from independant reviews, although it offers dx11 and lower power consumption that still does not win my vote, as CS:S still only uses dx 9.0, cost is also a factor as i can get a 1GB HD4890 for £117. As for the UCC mobo and X140 idea I thank-you, this seems like a better option

I'm not too bothered about the case to be honest with you, im sticking to a tight budget and with 48 reviews and 5 out of 5 stars on ebuyer I cant really knock the case for a budget build, the current build for the case + PSU come it at around £40. However, if I manage to save some extra pennies from Rob's suggestion I may opt for a better case.

you have a better psu which has more power and actually has enough connections to power a half decent graphics card

the motherboard is very good for overclocking and you have a good cooler

i also found a good monitor keyboard and mouse for a very good price

i have also put in some 1600mhz ram so that you have a higher overclocking boundary as 1333mhz ram can limit you
