Thanks Attila. I watched it myself, and it didn't seem nearly as smooth in real life as it did in the video. I know I was a little stressed since the stray fibers were a pain, and I was under a time constraint. The forms were definitely the largest part of the equation. The end result could only be as good as my prep. Getting a solid single piece was the ultimate goal. I wanted the strength of the CF and the build challenge.

Thanks man. I may look at an option like that, but I don't want to compromise the build for a little promotion. Now if Asus gave me some gear, who knows... :D

Anything I might add would have to be very subtle. I'd rather buy gear out of my own pocket, than go crazy with sponsor logos. I don't want to go the NASCAR route. :hehe:

Thanks Infiniti! The fiber cost does add up, but I buy some whenever I need it, and the expense gets spread out. After working with it, I know I could never substitute aluminum.

It's been a while since I last checked in Craig and I must say that you have made a ton of progress. The build is looking awesome. I can't wait for more.

It's always one step closer mate. :D I've still got lots of creative molding to come, although the most complex piece should now be behind me.

Thank you. It feels great to have something tangible now. I was designing it for so long that I wasn't sure how 'buildable' it would be in the real world. It's really easy to have 1mm tolerances and clearances in CAD, but it gets a little trickier in the real world.

Thanks guys. Lol, shah's got it. I'm already starting to sweat the wiring in this thing. :D

Thanks man! I'm not sure about that, but I do try to keep things interesting. :D

OK, show of hands, who thinks that Craig's wiring would be less than perfect in any case?

    Didn't think so ;)

Craig...ever since I saw your use of those contacts on Rogue I have wondered about their use as data transmission. Are you using any of them for USB connects?

Lol, thanks for the vote of confidence man!

I'll be using them for virtually everything. USB, SATA, power, and ethernet connections will all go through the contacts. Needless to say, there's going to be quite a few. :D They should be pretty seamless when done, although it's going to take a little time.

Since there are well over 600 pictures in my Rogue log, I'll save you a little time. You can see the bare contacts below, as well as how I integrated them. They allowed me to completely remove the top of the case with the fans, without disconnecting anything at all.

I love those contacts! Dare I ask where you got them? (Or better yet, if a link is provided in the Rogue log, please link me to that - this is one of your projects that I've missed...)

I got them from mouser.com. I'm not sure I provided a link in the Rogue log. The part numbers are listed below.

    652-70ADH-6-FL0

    652-70ADH-6-ML0

    I hope that helps!
