I like the sound of production limits.. sounds fun

yeah I don't get nda.. you would think they'd want reviews out early unless their game isn't great

I think it's meant to time in to the release of the new demo, for some reason.

Probably wait on this one. The fact it is £40 coupled with the ever increasing amount of DLC that is being planned means i'll quite happily wait.

I must say is a bargain (bought D2D Deluxe edition), given that I will play this game for the years to come, as I was doing with Civ 4 up to few months ago.

Please note, that the majority of the games costs the same amount, and barely provide 10 hours gaming. Which in Civ terms on marathon game, is barely third of the way on a single game!!

Heh I said good buy to my social life until Xmas now.

I'm just going to come out and say this: I don't care for Civilization games.

Aside from the infuriating lack of the letter "s" in the title, my major problem with the series is that I've not actually managed to enjoy playing any of the games, despite several hours of trying to (mostly with Civ IV).

As far as I can tell, Civilization is just Total War without the combat, which is not a good thing for a game to be.

    Have I missed something?

Oh well just gone an ordered Civilization 5; there goes all of my free time and all other games to be put on the back burner.

civilisation vs civilization? You might want to run a spell checker over the pages, you often switch between an s or z.

    I AM LOVING THIS GAME.

Picked it up from Walmart today.

I really like the new hex system, and the changed combat system. So far I have conquered one other player already, and the diplomacy rocked.

Upon conquering his last city, the former leader popped up and declared something like: "You may have been blessed with riches and victory in this life, but you will pay dearly for it in the next!"

    Awesome.

    OH man! I haven't played Civ 3 or Civ 4. But I played 1 and 2 to death. I once got 792% in Civ2.

I feel like going to play some Civ2 right now actually. If I had a computer that could run it I'd go buy the new one for sure.

I never played a Civ game before, but upon reading this review, I thought I'd install Civ 4 (that I got in a Steam sale) and give it a blast. Played though the tutorial and was totally underwhelmed so far, but gonna keep at it. I hope I connect with it as I need a good time killer working my night job.

    Greetings!

Played the 100 turns of the demo and will pass on the game.
    Battles are still boring.

Just Froogle it - its £24.99 on Amazon, £26.99 At Play.

I've no idea where Bit Tech gets it's prices from!

    Same

I haven’t even touched a Civ game for ages. I tried CIV 3 and found it a bit dull. I LOVE RTS games so can someone explain to me why this game is so popular/gets such good reviews in laymans turns?

I honestly want to play this on the back of its reviews, but I can't shell out £30 unless I'm going to love it! :eyebrow:
