Star Wars Battlefront 2 @ £3.25

Anyone played this before?

 

I think I played SW Battlefront a few years back, it's quite meh. It was a third-person BF2 clone at the time I think.

 

Remind me again how Star Wars Week turned into LucasArts Weekend... Probably, when they ran out of premium Star Wars games to peddle...

In any case, the new and improved versions of Threepwood vs. LeChuck (with special guest appearances by Marley) are off 50% this weekend.

 

Tried Star Wars Battlefront when it first came out. The game is a bit of a mess, frankly; I found the controls to be unwieldy and unintuitive. Just a standard shooter game, really. Nothing that original.

Must admit, this new Lara Croft is starting to work on me, especially when I saw the words "Co-Op"! For under a tenner, two games aren't bad!

 

I've been looking to buy Legend for a while, accidentally bought a second Underworld by mistake cos I couldn't remember which one I didn't have All the more reason to try this, probably would have paid a tenner for Legend!

 

Droplitz is on sale but I wouldn't buy it for £1.60, it sucks

 

I looked at Droplitz and couldn't see the point. Even for £1.60, which is the cost of a 10-15 minute bus ride for me, I'll pass.

garrys mod is on sale for 2.99, is it worth it?

 

Hell yes! Only reason I haven't picked it up til now is cos I sucked so much at actually building anything I didn't think it'd be worth the tenner. Last time I played was just before it hit version 10, given how polished it was even then it's gotta be worth £3. Away to buy

Edit: Huh that means it clearly hasn't been a tenner for a while, my bad!

 

I remember playing Garry's Mod when it first came out lol. Just bought it now.

 

Is Garrys Mod a game?

 

Yup, it started out as a mod then Valve offered to let him sell it. Up to version 9 was free mod, 10 and up is fully supported Steam integrated game. The ultimate HL2-esque sandbox

One thing I don't know; it used to be you could only play with assets from Source games you owned, is that still the case? Also is there any L4D stuff in it now?

 

I bought it ages ago and installed it, gave it 10 mins. It didn't grab me as a game. I couldn't work out where the fun was

I'm open to giving it another go if someone can explain exactly what I can do!

 

Other than to mess about with,what use is Garry's mod anyway?

 

Youtube gmod for inspiration. There's also a lot of fun user-created maps. I remember playing on one with a fully constructed house and two buttons, one to blo0w the house up and one to reset it. It kinda played like a mini BC2 attack, the house came apart under gunfire too.

If you can find a good server where people actually want to build and experiment it can be immense fun.

I used to spawn several million crates on top of each other, then spawn myself a rocket launcher and see how fast I could make my processor cry
