I'm just wondering why Bit-Tech has had no coverage of BlackBerry's developer event, or at least the launch of their tablet - the bafflingly named PlayBook.

Bit doesn't tend to cover consumer electronics like that, leave cell phones and tablets to Giz and Engadget.

Hmm.. I was just asking in light of the iPad coverage we saw in the run-up to release (or even announcement).

    LOL! How? Why?

    What's TFA?

Funny how they covered the Next tablet today and the BPhone tablet thing a while ago. It's just weird because Blackberry is still a major player in the tech world and BT doesn't seem to give them any coverage. Come to think of it, there wasn't any mention of the issues with BB Messenger in the Middle East, either. Very odd.

The article says that Felix Dennis (owner of Dennis Publishing, logo at the bottom of the page) registered the trademark 'Playbook' in 2006 - thus noone else can use it without facing the risk of having prove to a court of law that the products aren't linked and no consumer would confuse the two products.

I meant How and Why did Dennis register the name PlayBook?
Are they planning to take on the popular lads' mag with a hardcover?

To expand on what I said, there also isn't really anything to report besides a spec list at the moment.

Any decision Apple makes tends to get covered by every technology website anyway, so just because the iPad got written about by Bit doesn't mean anything else in the segment will... And the Next tablet is relevant probably because it's cheap, Android and British.
