There is always the satisfaction you get yourself by building it You, Attila, have made a lot of geeks/enthusiasts drop their jaw on the table, and floor, and i dont know how you can keep on raising the bar! Many of my friends and classmates often come to me to say "hey, look at this computer, its just so awsome" and most of the times i say, "mjeeh, have a look at this one", and points at either cygnus X1 or this Keep the droolers drooling, and congrats on another beautiful casemod!
What he said. I've been gone for 10 months and come back to this! For Sale: one Dremel. Not worthy. john
Hey Attila! I just want to congratulate you on amazing, quality job again! I have been following this one since the beginning. I recommend that you submit this project to million-dollar-pc because it belongs there!!!!!!
Looks great Attila. Your worklogs are always inspirational. I really like the "behind the scenes" photography setup pics. I wish more people would do that. I'm looking forward to your next one.
I looked through all of the final pictures, then went to the top to do it again. It's a shame this project is finished, but you've done a fantastic job
Thanks for posting the setup pictures my friend, it was very informative. Unfortunately I dont have the space in my house to take such pictures, its a one room only house! Once again congrats buddy!
Thank you pope. But I'm sure you could easily show your classmates pics of Beto and get just as many jawdrops. Welcome back John. Thank you, it's always nice to hear from someone on the ride from the start. Thank you very much skip. Thanks brinkz. That's OK mate. I had to move some stuff out of the way for the session, perhaps you could 'move out' while shooting the photo's.
Here is my late congratulation on a wellbuilt project as well as a very nice log that have been a joy to follow from start to finish. Truly amazing work. Regarding plexi on or off, I would go with plexi on. I don't know if I've missed something but is there a reason to why there is no backplate?
Thanks Gnu. Yeah, I did prefer it without the cover but as it's been sitting on my desk, and I've been using it now for several days, I've changed my mind. I really like it with the plex on. Regarding a backplate, I started to model with cardboard and pretty soon it became obvious that to maintain good front to back airflow, the part had to be very minimal. That together with the fact that it was going to be made from clear plex and only be barely visible, made me drop the part altogether.
Oh.. I see, I knew there was some thought behind it. I think with the plexi it looks like a piece of art inside one of those museeum glass cabinets. A truly worty place imo. If it was to be without the plexi, I might have prefered some coverplate to cover the whole mobo like you did in Cygnus, but thats just my opinion.
Not my style (the front fans) but I'll give you super mad props for the awesome/ridiculous attention to detail
Attila - are you related to Peter Dickison/g-nome? And bit-tech - is there to be an article on this, quite frankly epic, casemod/log?
Haha, no. But Orac was one of the first case mods I ever saw and it's still one of my favourites. It's a pity g-nome seems to have given up in this area.
I had to look up g-nomes's mods = very nice . It's nice to know you have been looking at other mods well before your latest creations, so with practice & real dedication theres hope for us all I guess . I doubt a good modder would hang their tools up permanently, but having said that I guess it depends on what life puts in ones way . Back to still thinking I see, thats excellent .
So... these pictures.. gave me butterflies in my stomach. They're awesome pictures and I'm also pretty sure that I'm in love with your computer.
Nah, like anything, some people just get sick of it. I've probably only got a couple more of these in me before I move onto something else. Thanks a lot Krog. Thanks muchly Craig.
