@ Kryss2k, Your design looks good, but there´s couple things I want to comment. Is it possible to have two 5,25" bays stacked so that you can use dual bay reservoir or fan controller? Also what about having triple radiator in the roof and more space for long GPU´s?

@Roboduck, Did I understood right that optical drive and those buttons are attached to the top part? Wont it be a bit annoying having wires going between the case and the removable part? I can already see someone just leaving it hanging on the wires while plugging in their shiny new keyboard. :D

I don't see it being a problem. The wires will be held in place with cable ties and routed near the hinge point to hide them. Many cases have LEDs or buttons in the doors and never have problems. Im still not finished with the design so I may just shorten the door and have the drive bay be part of the case but think the current design is fine. Thanks for the comment though, always good to get someone else's take!

Ah, so there will be a hinge. I thought that it will be similar to the Raven 2 where you just take the roof off - no hinges. But I would still prefer having all the buttons and drive bay attached to the case itself..

@Zesti in that design you can't have a dual bay resevoir unless it's sideways - same for displays - otherwise it'd be even wider (something I'd really want to avoid) as for longer cards I could lengthen it I guess :)

However I started a new design which strangely enough looks closer to my original design than the one you're commenting on - the new design does have triple radiators and stacked drives and I configured it using a prefabbed longer GPU card so should work for all the things you've said - my only problem is I haven't included the reservoirs yet so need to work those into the design and then I'll post pics :)

    Thanks for the feedback =)

    Ok,
here is my final case, it´s to 2/3 finish :D

    max. 2 PSU´s
2 x Phobya Nova at the back
2x 420 radiators in the bottom
    cablemanagment
you can use single or dual sockel boards like the evga sr-2
    6 x HDDs or SDDs
    3 x optical drives

    feedback please =)

I guess it'd be easy to manage a case with that much free space but it looks too tall! How tall is it? BTW what's on all the space at the PSU level?

That´s right, its easyer to manage are case like this,
but we aren´t here to build a conventional case :D

    Thanks for your opinion :)

Under the cover are 2 PSU´s and a box, in the box are the pumps, its for noise reduction.

I guess I'll throw my design idea up here.

Started with some basic ideation with Verithin and marker:

Then threw it into sketchup (Corsair 800D for scale):

Should take two quad 140mm rads, full ATX board, pumps, res, etc. The exterior will look exactly like that (with the exception of some switchgear maybe). Although I may need to scale it up to fit everything comfortably the proportions will stay the same.

Totally minimalist aesthetic obviously, let me know what you think.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG]

    2 420 radiators
2 1080 radiators at the back
    2 PSU´s
    6 HDDs or SSDs
    3 opticel drives
2-3 pump in a box for noise reduction
    2-3 resorvers

surpports m-ATX, ATX, E-ATX and HPTX (Evga SR-2)
    and videocards with over 32cm

What's a case design contest without me ;)

Here's a preview of my design:

Built from 10mm acryl segments :D
    [IMG]

3 hours work so far. I have all night :D

    Edit: Forgot dimensions!

As usual I'm pushing SFF a wee bit. Case measures 43.4cmx43.4cmx21cm. Hard to work out volume due to the curves!

I'm not sure, will it be one winner for mid-size case and another for full tower? Or just ONE overall winner?

Problem with many curved designs is waste of space IMO, maybe the curves can be straight lines internally so you can put something there? A couple of SSDs above the PSU for example. BTW where do you place the pump?

Still working on HDD and pump placement - as you said curves make placing square objects hard!

@Ta10n, That looks just amazing. A bit like some modern sculpture or Thermaltake Level 10. :thumb:

Sorry for late reply. I din't see it. I use VRay for sketchup. only a trial though. It works well, and don't take too long.
