It's probably not the most awesome song I know, but it's one that most of you won't have heard. That, and it's pretty damn awesome.

    It's from Disturbed, 'nuff said.
Now anytime I hear that song it sends chills down my spine, only a few managed to do that so far :p

    Anybody played "Asylum" interactive adventure?

    Evanescence - Your Star

This needs no explanation, the awesomeness should be obvious.

Devin Townsend - Bad Devil. This must be played at ludicrous volume! I love it because it is just completely and utterly, chew your elbows, eat the furniture, wear pasta to work bonkers!

Although other honorary mentions which I had hard times debating over were:

Muse - Hysteria (simply the most awesome bassline in history)
Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (could pacify a psychotic hyena)
Bjork - It's Oh So Quiet (can make any human being scream BA BA BAA BA! for no apparent reason)

Missed this thread when it was started :sigh:

At the moment I don't have one single favourite, I have several, and they're all on ABIII by Alter Bridge. This is one of them:

It's all about the intro and the guitar that picks out the rhythm. It's incredibly simple but it sounds so, so good. Also it's worth nothing that I'm a bit of an audiophile with a HD audio library, and this track sounds like dirt on Youtube. If you want to hear it as the band intended you to hear it when they recorded the album, go out and buy the CD :thumb:

But to be honest, even after countless plays, this is my favourite song at the moment. I haven't heard a rock song this moving since In Loving Memory.

    Lyrics are incredible.

And that Emma Gillespie cover of Change that Crapbag posted above is absolutely stunning!

Very hard. I'm a big music fan but there's always one song that comes to mind.

Every time I listen to it I get shivers. Love this song.

Tough choice. I almost suggested something by Primus, or Painkiller by Judas Priest, or Black Dog by Led Zeppelin. Yep.

    Gaaahhhh!
I am going to go with the first song I thought of when I read this thread, I could go with a lot of other options, Muse, Sandi Thom,Guns n Roses, Darude - Sandstorm, Queen, oh god Queen, some of them trump this actually. But hell this is the first one I thought of!:wallbash:

To many to choose from... but this is one that sprung to mind. No lyrics, just instruments....It will take you on a journey....

This was supposed inspiration for one of my favourite tracks, Fightstar - Mono, (Yes Charlie from Busted is in that band, but that doesn't bother me, as they make decent music to my ears!)
