My mum and dad all their lives have used WARM water - not hot.

I take a 2 litre jug from the kitchen of warm tap water.

Start your engine and heaters etc of course, and once you've got ALL the ice off your windscreen start your wipers til it squeaks and it stops the screen icing up again, meanwhile the warm water isn't enough to do any damage to your windows!

fantastic idea, you will be my Butler :D

warm water it is. from what i've seen this morning, it seems pretty effective, and pretty effortless. as long as it won't damage the windows, why not use it?

Or a diesel golf that takes forever for the engine to heat up. The scoob on the other hand has a heater which appears to have a direct connection to hades. Shame it gets put to bed for the winter.

If it warms up in 5 minutes you've already won the winter car challenge. :D

I just walk out, start my car and drive to work. Heated garage <3

When I go home from work I just scrape the windows if the are icy. Last week I got myself a heater to heat the inside of the car on the really cold days.

I wouldn't use water to defrost a window. You just run the rish of cracking something. if you still insist on using water, at least mix it with some alcohol. (Rubbing alcohol or Isopropyl alcohol) Ethylene glycol also works, but it is a bit nasty...

Ever heard of battery chargers? That's the second you should think about in the winter; Fully charge your battery. Badly charged batteries can actually freeze. That's not fun...

(The first thing you think about is proper tires, of course)

I have an 03 Focus, Krikkit, and that warms up dead quickly.

Heated front&rear, heater - It doesn't even go to four!

I don't have time for a full Dethklok track before I pull away.
