I spent half the damn day trying to beat that crazy lap time someone set. I got a 1.34.9 or so.

Still, at least I look damn sexy doing it.

i learned a few things while i was there.

*Games and events can be changed at any time, usually for the worst
*you can't beat someone on streetfighter who brought along their own arcade stick (how the hell they knew to bring it along, i don't know)
*you can't beat someone in streetfighter if they don't let you land on the ground
*i can drive a real car, but can't do gears in a video game
*i can't drive with stupid flappy paddles
    *i can't drive if i can't hear the engine
*i still hate F1 with a passion, would have preferred Dirt 2
*COD is not Team Fortress 2
*COD requires several minutes rebinding keys to play similar to TF2
*If in doubt, throw grenade in rough general direction of enemy
*eat before gaming, not during. otherwise you will not be eating anything at all
*apparently a sniper rifle is the best close combat weapon
*remember to blink while gaming. i know you're to busy concentrating, but it makes you look like you're about to cry when the round is over and you do blink

    finally
*beware the ones that say they haven't played games before. they will be the one that walks away with the top prize....

Still, on the plus side, i got my new velocipraptor drive for coming 5th. shame that the motherboard i have doesn't have any sata3 ports

Cool, who in that video is a bit-techer? I can see that sleepygamer was there, but who else was? Wish stuff like this was held around my area...

    Well I'm a bit-techer and I won...

I've not received my prize yet (or any real news about it) so I'm jealous of those who've got their velociraptor ;) - I won one of those too (look here for proof: http://www.gamerbase.com/?a=post&id=86454 - I'm Jason P) but I don't think I'll get one.

Mind you, at this rate I'm not sure I'll get my prize by Christmas and when I finally do it will be old tech!

Apologies for the moan but I finally have a day off and I'd planned to spend it with my lovely new gaming PC. Instead I will be doing odd jobs around the house as I have no excuse not to.

I am a Bit-techer, its my ugly mug on the video preview page.

Got my raptor the other week and while i don't have sata3 ports its still better than the hard drive I had before.

Just an FYI to the winners; using SATA 3 (6gbps) make no difference with the Raptor. It's sequential and random speeds are no where near those required to max out even SATA 2 (3gbps).

    Otherwise, enjoy your drives!

Well as of yesterday (21/12/10) I finally had my PC delivered...yaaaay!

Only problem is that I have the flu so by the time I finish work I'm too exhausted to play it!

Has everyone got their travelling expenses yet?

If not, I am talking to a nice lady from WD who promised to sort it out for me and said I could pass on the details of anyone else who didn't get theirs, so PM me and I'll make sure she gets them.

that actually is true if you can remove the sniper sight and fire it without the help of a corshair on the screen
