But unless you create a GIF of the carto + clouds that doesn't help :p

An easier way as well is cobble. One corner has an L shape, put it in the top left reading as an L and you are facing north.

Stickeh, when you get around to adding TCoZ's Donut + Roman surface, could you please do me a massive favour and just cut this out:

I'm getting fed up with blowing it up. It's taken a few thousand TNT blocks so far.

Are you just trying to flatten it?

Yup. It's a lot of work that takes even longer because I have to strike the same block 3 times for it to register. :(

EDIT: New anti-lag mod works great for me (really!!) but allows no TNT which means ill have to wait for a Stick-edit :)

Anyone claimed the land by the clock tower yet?

Latest from "The Word of Notch" (19.11.2010):

The few hours I’ve been able to work today, I tried getting SMP Health as complete as possible. It will be released early next week.
    Here’s the status:

    * Send attack network data: DONE
    * Add the ability to attack other entities: DONE
    * Implement falling damage: NOT STARTED
    * Implement respawning for dead players: PARTIALLY DONE (there are bugs with the player keeping the current location in some circumstances instead )
    * Make eating food regenerate health: DONE
    * Send health updates to the players: DONE

The “attack entities” code is done on a general level, so you can hurt animals, monsters, boats, carts and even other players.

There are a couple of other tweaks in the next update as well:

    * Fix leaves. Again: DONE
    * Optimize the lighting update slowdowns: STARTED
    * Make players riding carts or boats a long way receive terrain updates: DONE
    * Fix the block re-spawning bug: NOT STARTED
    * Add “pvp” toggle flag to the server settings: NOT STARTED.

    Source.

Sooo, seems we're getting health and damage this week... :D

Edit: Also, on an unrelated note, I think we'll need to find somewhere suitable to erect a big statue...

(Minecraft is blocks, lego is blocks... this should be doable :D )

Anyone else not fussed about health + damage? Okay, yeah, we'll be able to finally use carts, but I liked the fact that if we fell it didn't really matter.

Apparently he hasn't started on falling damage yet, but yes, I'm with you on that one. I enjoy the building, but the fear of death? Not so much. Still, as you pointed out, we can soon use carts properly.

damage will take time to get used to because we've been without for so long...but after we are used to it i dont think it will be a big problem.

i really hope minecarts and boats are actually fixed this time and not just "fixed". wonder if this update will include a fix for the dismounting boats and fences bug.

    YES.

although we may have to clear a plot down to bedrock to gain the height required....
