Have you tried VRay Zuko ? VRay for SU7, not available for SU8 yet, sadly. (Razer, you should try using hdri studio set ups for your rig renders.) I'm currently having a good time with Cinema 4D R12 Studio. Huge jump from R9. But at least it still feels familiar. The native render suite is awesome, but like others complicated. Material editor is the bomb! Would love to give 3DS a go with the new v2.0 Vray w/gpu realtime rendering. kind of like Octane I believe. *Any thoughts on VRay v2.0 "Metric - Croni - Dark~" ? Would like to hear your take on it.
Just went on the VRay site last night looking for a version for Cinema 4D R12. No such animal available. Noticed that VRay 2.0 was out but only for 3DS Max atm. I just switched to Sketchup 8 from v.7.... not supported as of yet! I'll wait
http://www.vrayforc4d.com/ Not quite mature, but it's coming along nicely. Not sure it's worth the cost though, AR3 is excellent. Here's a few examples(of mine).
Thanks for that link Tangster. Your renders look great. What's AR3? (partial Noob here ) Do you belong to any of the 3DS or C4D forums? Cheers .... Dark~, I was looking at the vray.com web site. Seems I was a bit premature with the 2.0 for 3DS release... 7 days to go .... Razer, Great job on the case, wow you really have come along with your skills! Love that lighting effect with the logo, Blur and fade with the reflection too... you going to re submit these to the contest or do some more tweeking first!
AR3 is the built in Cinema 4D render engine for...studio and above, I think? I'm on the Cinema 4D cafe as a lurker, mostly since studies take up a lot of my time now.
Ah ha! (fresh meat hits grinder here LOL) . Checked that site link. Navigated to forum about vray for C4D R12. Seems a lucky few are beta testing atm in private. No official release yet Not that I'm unhappy with C4D at all. Took R9 stuff and ran some of it through R12 basic settings and...
@Tangster- This is weird I just modeled the District 9 assault rifle yesterday. I didn't even check here to see you had already done it! BTW what software are you using for modeling? I need to work on making it look dirty and grungy but PhotoView (aka SolidWorks) isn't good with textures or decals.
I'm back! lol vray would be nice but I cant justify the cost for something I will hardly use. maybe when Ive mastered the theory behind it all........ does anyone use Kerkythea on here? would anyone show me there 'studios' or light setups ??? if I have something that I know can work I will keep at it till Ive got it. if you know what I mean. District 9 = ace film
Dark~3nergy has a good setup tut using vray here. I took the basic idea of it and applied it to Kerky when I was messing with it. Might have a look at these too... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvB_pm3YMDA&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCBKyAgP9XU http://www.sketchupartists.org/tuto.../ies-light-tutorial-using-v-ray-for-sketchup/ Hope this helps some Cheers
Look good to me! I finally was able to get a full animation in SolidWorks without any glitches! Oh and I thought some of you here might be interested in this: GrabCAD/KeyShot rendering contest
