    It is a shame you didn't cover Co-Op's offerings, I have been thinking of investing in some of their pies, and would have liked an expert opinion.

    Are you lot nuts, the Tesco iced ones are the muts nuts, especially with Brandy sauce. They've ben my fav for about the last 4 years.

    Quick Q, did you oven bake the Waitrose All Butter pies for 8-10 minutes before tasting?

    A few weeks back they got voted number 1 by some mag the missus reads. Without heat, they are nasty, with heat, scrummy!

    I ate 3 last night. Mmm mmm

    OK... I have to ask... "fruity mincemeat" - does it mean it has a mince - meat in it? I thought mince pie is a pie with meat in it... some time ago I heard Christmas mince pies are with fruity-jamy feeling...
    So what is up with those mince pies? What are they? Never tried one before.. Now. looks like I need to go to M&S and buy some...

    @ Phinix, 150yrs ago or so Mince pies used to be mostly meat, with expensive things like spices and dried fruit added as a festive indulgence, as the prices of the fruity spicy boozy bits came down that became the prime ingredient. Proper mince pie filling still contains suet which gives away it's origin as a meaty pie
