Mini-ITX Sandy Bridge gaming powerhouse? Why do these words, put together in the same sentence, make me drool so much?
Yup, So-DIMMs. Apparently Intel is pushing them hard, yet, not even Intel uses them! If you're not overclocking they are perfect for very low power systems though: drop in a 35W "T" CPU into the fully featured ASUS board and you're away. On the subject of mini-ITX boards, I'm preparing an article on the Gigabyte 350N-USB3 my other Chrome tab Check back around 4th Jan.
I've just bought a ITX Gigabyte H55N-USB3 and I’m pairing it with a 6950 in a SG07-B. Should be a great little box! I honestly think ITX is the way forward, I don’t need SLI and I’m only using 2 sticks of RAM anyway.
Ooooo what version cooler did you get? I had one that was a right PITA, but they said they'd change it before it would hit retail. More OT: ITX cheesecake! Let's hope one of the above naufacturers gets their act together and makes one really focused towards gaming.
Maaaan, why do I get the feeling I'll be upgrading to Sandybridge at some point... >.< That Elitegroup board looks awesome.
Well then. It's a good thing Newegg's been out of stock on my 1156 miniITX motherboard for so long. May have to grab a SandyBridge system instead! Dibs on the ASRock with the built in wifi! Hm, and if I upgrade this PC as well... oh dear. I smell two new machines this January!
I'd really like to hear more about this/see some pics if you don't mind?! Sounds exciting and I'm intrigued as to your choice of other components...
