I use it as an excuse to do something unusually nice for people I care about, but I certainly don't celebrate the intended significance behind it.

Come to the Far East! No one celebrates Christmas out here and there's very little Christmas music, plus, you get a week off in Feb for Chinese New Year! \o/

It was 3 days ago and it's already been completely forgotten. It feels refreshing from the pressure to be honest.

Quit paying attention to Christmas long ago.

I finally realized I had no desire to spend time with most of my family and the presents weren't worth it, so I just quit playing.

One thing I did last year and want to continue is to send out cards thanking people for being in my life and being friends. I try to hand deliver these whenever possible.

wait you randomly give out cards throughout the year thanking people for being in your life?

No insult/harm/disrespect/whatever meant but this basically just made my mind go blank.

Sitting round the family table pulling a cracker, reaching for a bit of breast and enjoying some christmas stuffing.

You don't have to be religious to enjoy christmas. But then i don't enjoy christmas regardless, because people turn it into an irritating hassle.

I tried that and got a whack upside the head.

At my age and diminishing family, it is more of a family reunion than a religious experience. My ex wife had 40+ members of her family Christmas Eve, and 29 Christmas day.

My side of the family consists of me and my brother and his wife(whom I just met, although he's been married to her for 5 yrs. or more). Rest of Mike and my family all gone to mesothelioma.

I'm one trimester away from priesthood(my choice), so there is always a religiousness to me. I just carry it inside and enjoy life day by day. See my sig.

Not randomly, just to the people who are important to me. It's my personal version of thanksgiving. :D:thumb:

Ive never really enjoyed Christmas, and i haven't celebrated it since I was about 12, the reason? Its my birthday, not Christmas, and that's how it will always be for me.

I do it for the kids now tho, yet they also don't seem to care all that much lol

Xmas is for kids, like Easter and birthdays. As a grown up, I dont wait until the end of the year to get a new computer upgrade. I just go out and buy it as soon as I have the cash...

Getting off work and meeting up with the family and friends is nice. I'm not religious so apart from I couldn't really give a monkeys to be honest. The whole presents business is basically overdone and my friends decided to cut it out this year. I considered that as a minor victory of sorts!

I find when I'm at my sisters and I get to watch her children enjoy xmas then it feels more like it used to when I was a lad. But I've long since got over the fact that if you look forward to xmas as an adult you will almost certainly be disappointed.

So don't let yourself get hyped up and do your best not to let the pressure of xmas get to you, and you should find they improve a bit.

Oh and my top tip is.. when you go shopping during December, make sure you have your mp3 player with you so you can walk around oblivious to all the annoying xmas tunes.
