Get a friend to gift you the complete edition, it works that way.

The episodes are there but they are £13 or something like that.

Anyone in the UK want to try gifting me GTA IV complete edition. Can send funds via PayPal, in advance only please don't want anyone to be out of pocket due to technical issues.

OK, I'm really tempted by GTA4 complete but I heard it is a real system hog on the PC. Thanks to WD I now have a CoreI7-930 and GTX470. Anyone got any idea how it will run?

Sure - PM me your email/Steam user ID and I'll gift it to you if you still need it.

My copy's downloading right now. :)

EDIT - going in game now - will check back later to see if you still need me :)

I'm kinda tempted by NFS:HP actually, but I think it's still a bit too expensive. I liked the NFS series up until several games ago, when they really went downhill. This one's made by Criterion though, and although it looks much better than the previous few games, it seems more like a NFS/Burnout mashup than a true NFS game (zero customisation of cars etc.). I've just got Burnout Paradise so I don't want to pay £18 for a game that is very similar. Still, it's got pretty good reviews from most places (with the notable exception of bi-tech).

:) Yes Immortal Throne. I play with 3 other friends where we play the game as it is supposed to be played (i.e. not cheating.. which I hasten to add is rife in general multiplayer games).

Its surprisingly addictive... and rather under rated I think (I say that as I knew nothing about the game when I bought it)

Have you got it working yet?

I have had this error before on a Steam sale (had to wait a week for teh game because it had "sold out"). Some companies release limited serials to Valve/Steam and get caught out in the sale rush.

If its not working contact Steam Support, they are very good at sales related problems.

Wise decision. Do not buy IMO. I liked the high speed racing, but the game breaker for me was no cops or races in free roam. Seriously, you can roam around doing bugger all, with no cops to chase you? Not good enough for what it costs, and the lack of AA pisses me off to no end. Constantly niggles at me.

Was almost excited when I saw nfs:hp, but 18 quid, bah ! I've seen it on disk for £13.

Plus I also hate games with no AA, it makes such a difference to the way a game looks.

    Go to Steam>Settings
    Click the "Account" tab
Click the "View account history" link
Look at your "Licenses and Subscriptions" and "Store Transactions" to ensure you aren't buying it for a second time....
If you do need to buy it again do so through your browser rather than through steam at https://store.steampowered.com
Alternatively go to your Steam folder and delete all of the files except for:
    Steam.exe
    And the folder \SteamApps\
Reboot and then try purchasing it again through Steam
