Multi Latest Steam & General Gaming Bargains: Read first post!

Just got a very nice email from Steam Support telling me they've sorted me out. And alas: The game is showing up in my library now. Wow, that was a lot quicker than expected. Bravo Valve, that's how it's done!

 

Fantastic news! But honestly, I didn't expect less from Valve/STEAM.

 

A bit disappointed with the lastest batch of sales really. The best deals were all in the first week in my opinion. I was really hoping FM11 would have more than 33% off. Nothing else really caught my eye I didn't already have.

Here's to hoping tomorrow is something spectacular opposed to a recap!

 

Man this thread just rubs it in for me, I'm in Germany atm (instead of UK) and everything's in euro's and the offers are crap!! Getting sick of seeing games unavailable or in a 'low violence' version, too.

Does anyone know an easy way around this?

 

I had in on an my eee 700 and despite some bugs that I think are specific to that laptop it ran pretty well, so I would imagine that you'll be fine.

Got me some DLC for Mafia.

 

Really liked the Mafia 2 demo but it didn't run very well (8800) but with a decent card a fiver is an absolute bargain.

 

^Grab it while you wait for a graphics upgrade, it won't get cheaper than this.

 

Yes, it looks absolutely beautiful - but is a real system hog. It's the reason I bought a 480!

Just grabbed all the Mafia 2 DLC, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, and Zeno Clash.

Mafia 2 seems to run fine on my GTX275 @ 1920x1080, cant really remember the actual settings but it looks great. No physx though.

Man, the story DLC for Mafia 2 is ****ing annoying. They decided to shove 6 filler quests inbetween the story missions.

The problem with paypal from Germany is that it's the only country besides China that does not have a gifting option. You always have to pay fees for transactions which are quite high . Azrael gifted me some game several times now (thanks pal) and usually I had to pay about one Euro extra per 10-15€. This does add up over time so I'm not sure if the hassle is worth it just for a reduced price. There are expectations of course such as Civilizations V, which is almost twice as expensive over here.

If someone gifts you a game you get the uncut vesion, so with some games the hassle is very much worth it of course.

 

anyone know what settlers 7 is like? is it fun or a heaping pile of crap?

 

The previous ones are quite good, but I refuse to buy it until the DRM is removed so you might want to be wary of that. It's the Ubisoft DRM which has (Or have they fixed it?) the permanent internet connection required even in single player where if your internet dropped for a second or so you lost any progress since the last save as you could no longer save.
I do know one person who has it and he likes it and hasn't had any problems yet.
