LOL You know you've been on Bit-tech too long when...

So just now I looked up who is still actually staff at Bit-tech and realised that I must have been coming to this site for more than a little while given that:

I recognised two people in the staff list, one of whom I know primarily as a forum poster not as staff, and the other I know as the "new guy" who has probably been here longer than all the rest of the people xD

I was still expecting to see Will, Tim, Brett, and a few other "familiar" faces (from 2006).

Gosh, I didn't know Tim had gone. Or how much the staff had grown.

A few years ago, bit-tech and its ilk were briefly my main career plan for the future, until I realised that the only thing I'd bring to the table is the sort of general games reviewing that Joe does, and he's already got that covered, as have all similar publications and sites. I hadn't looked at the staff list since then really.

Also, they're all a lot more youthful than I expected. Unless there's liberal amounts of photoshopping going on there.

Alas, Cheesecake is the Dark God of Bit-Tech, this is assured. BUT it's influence and power are such that to much cheesecake will cause death, proven.

When Serious discussion got shut down for a while for being too anti-American (that was mostly my fault )

Ah yes, the days they shut down Serious Discussion and the mixture of serious topics with people posting at a General level made me become even more trollish and abusive.

 

Incidentally, spec, have you ever actually been banned and gotten away with nobody noticing?

I think in general I've had too many friends in high places for that to happen, although with most of the staff who were here when I joined gone, I suppose it could happen yet!

Bigz..that name's familiar. I think Major and ComputerKing are both distant nightmare's and dream's respectively now.

 

Oh God, Computerking and Major. I definitely remember those names and the general lack of respect each commanded.

That and the funny post we got from CKing when he was finally unbanned after a couple of months.

Of course, that isn't me, because I remember almost joining one day during an IT class in school, after about an hour of reading drooling over "Dark Blade" by "G69T". Yup, that's right folks, I joined bit-tech for the modding!

Then I actually joined about a year later to comment on another thread in the project logs section

(Then I faded out for a while when I was too busy managing my own forum, then it closed and I joined the CPC forum, then the CPC one closed and moved here, and I already had an account here, and here I am )
