Films Whats the name of that car film where they race across the US? Deathrace? Gumball?

I wanna watch it, something to do with racing across either the US or the world and it gets a bit pear shaped!

The Canonball Run - Good. Captain Chaos (Dun Dun DHUN!) is fried gold.
The Canonball Run II - Utter Shite. Not even Captain Chaos can save this one.

 

Cannonball runs were old movies about illegal racing across the us, there were at least a couple of movies, but I can't remember if there were cannonball runs in other countries aswell

There's another really old racing movie, about a legal race around the world; The Great Race.
It's not as cool as the cannonball movies, it's one of those tame/boring/wacky old movies.

Deathrace 2000 was cool but not what you are describing, that was about the corrupt and violent races run by the prison system, so prison inmates could race to the death for their freedom.

i like deathrace 2000, how many points for running over chavs though ;-)

 

that was the new deathrace film, the old 1975 classic was totally different, and more about a broken government, that was more anarchistic.

yes frankenstien was in both, but the stories are different.

for a start the 1975 version, was run on public roads, where you gained points for running over certain targets (group of old people, for instance)

where the new one was all contained within a prison site.

 

The remake wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but still a long way from the originals.

I would like to see the original Deathrace though, sounds interesting & funny in a sadistic way..
