R3loaded, aria have the palit one listed with stock speed & reference cooler on preorder for £200. No specific ETA though. The zotsc I've gone with is also the reference design. Megadrive, I'll have side by side 3dmark vantage scores by the weekend hopefully, should give you an idea. my 260 is the evga gtx 260 216 ssc, dunno how that compares to your BFG unit. I'll fold a work unit or two as well.
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...R5+PCI-Express+Graphics+Card+?productId=43556 You meant that? It's in stock, and clocked at 900.
My bad, I was on iphone at the time. No, that has the dual cooler thing going on. The POV is all stock, looks like, and £205. So if you were planning on buying assassins creed brotherhood anyway, Scan's Zotac card (that I've chosen) with free delivery may be the chap. if not, Aria's POV. Odd that the non-reference cooler equipped cards seem to be cheaper, I guess the review suggestion that the reference cooler is overspecified carries a premium. But the best present I bought for my old 8800GT was an aftermarket super bling thermalright HR03GT passive cooler that looked outrageous but was far more efficient than the superloud BFG minifan.
Damnit I was hoping to pick up a load of watercooling kit this month, now I'm stuck between replacing my 5770 with this or getting a ekwb kit from scan.
Not sure if you saw it, but AMD has responded with a 1GB 6950 that will compete directly at the 560 price point. As a general rule, it is just a bit faster and uses a bit less power. Haven't seen any surface in the UK just yet. More details in this review (linking to page 3).
The question hovering over the 1Gb 6950 is will you be able to mod it to a 6970 still. Without that the overclocking power of the 560 will still win out I think.
Zotac 560ti OC 3dMark Vantage Results compared to EVGA GTX 260 216 SSC GTX 260 P13935 GXT 560 P19200 That's with a Q9550, Intel X-25M 80Gb SSD and 6Gb 1066MHz dual channel ram in async mode (cos the other 2gb chip died) Both cards at manufacturer supplied clocks I know this isn't real world results, but it's a fair basis for comparison. For those wondering about what difference from an 8800GT, I don't have a vantage benchmark for that, sorry
I *do* have some benchies from 8800GT to GTX260 for 3dmark06 stored in my profile, but the difference also included a Q9550 instead of my old E6850 (faster in some things, slower in others etc). Can post links for that too, the gpu score in isolation may help paint a picture. I still have all three cards, mind, I suppose I could drop the 8800GT back in & get a vantage if the request is made. The 260 will be going on the bay at the weekend though. It's served me well, but I reckon I may as well get something back for it rather than sit there gathering dust & becoming worthless as the 8800GT nearly has.
EVGA 560 or MSI twin frozr? Which do we think will have more oc potential? Will probably be putting it under water so cooling no to much of a problem.
I'm not sure if both boards are the same layout, ideally you'll want the reference card as finding a waterblock should be easier.
