I listened to the podcast, they have some good points about the industry in general and the general lack of design, and how some of the giants are finally recognizing modders as a resource and not just a market niche.

Roboduck - I did not make the connection before, you are Scott on GrabCad?

Very nice case Roboduck and great rendering quality. I did try VRAY yesterday, but I'm not used to it's material setup and had only crapy results (more used to maya workflow material).

Anyway, my computer is already dying each time I make a 2D export in 2560 pixels :wallbash: (somewhere around 15 minutes per export with shadows :waah:)

Here are my yesterday night work, almost there for final entry (will post everything tonight). I made up my mind and choose to keep the front panel bay plain, leaving anyone who want a window the choice of both size and shape.

The bottom zone can hold two 5x HDD bay (with rails and backpanel) or a single 5X HDD bay and a dual 5.25" drive bay (not showed).

I've added a 24" LCD screen to give an idea of the case size for on-desk use.

And the inside of the "beast" :

    Ok folks:
I hereby resign from the contest. Issues and time constraints in my life have limited work on the design to the point where I'm not happy to submit to voting.

Sorry guys. This is as far as I got with my design in a month:

A little update with the pump mounting system. It consists on 2 adjustable parallel rails per pump allowing you to screw your pump without drilling any hole.

The rails are lying on rubber to prevent vibration from the pump.

EDIT : you can also screw a pump support to the rail like this one
