The Corsair H50 and H70 are just rebranded Asetec 550LC and 570LC. And the Asetec 510LC is the previous version of the Asetec 550LC. Asetec doesn't sell their parts for retail but only as OEM tho, so you can only buy the Corsair-branded versions, if you're not a OEM. So the question is actually down to Corsair H50, Corsair H70 or CoolIT. Going by the reviews, the CoolIT has some issues with a rattling pump, so you're down to either the Corsair H50 or H70, which are both excellent and only differ in the size of the radiator and therefore performance. If you're not interested in overclocking your CPU, then the H50 will be sufficient enough with the single fan attached to it.
Just got the H50 myself, tubes are quite stiff mind. I'm curious as to why there are 'audiophile' grade HDMI leads? I can understand analogue connections, however HDMI is purely digital and it's like getting an audiophile grade USB lead?
@ jrs77 : many thanks for this great answer ! @ HandMadeAndroid : I choose the HDMI to be the same brand and design as the other cables. But you're right it's just digital and not for long distance here
oh well get a few of these to match then http://www.analogueseduction.net/product/Furutech_GT-2_Audiophile_USB_A_to_B_Cable_FGT25 I'll be watching this one, always loved audio systems. Got an old Rotel amp and CD player and the sound is so good man. Recently switched from MP3 to FLAC for computer audio. Which format will you use. I personally like FLAC because it's lossless, and side by side, you can tell the difference between that and MP3.
Nice man. BTW I used sharkroom silent eagle fans in my HTPC, they are whisper quite. I have one of those intel drives too, excellent bits of kit.
Oh. My. God. All i can think. wow, even though you havent showed us anything yet, my random searching of the bt forums has brought up a gem from paradyse(see what i did there ) all i want to really see is you making your own cables for the psu, from scratch with some mdpc sleeve. that is all. my brain now needs to shut down from all the awsomeness. Great design and parts choice cyril! oh and more on topic, the debate for the coolers are, the h50 has a very thick pump unit/cpu block, something like 2 inches thick, and the tubes coming out of the block are not mounted on swivel thingies, so if you are doing a very low radius bend, it will put a pretty big strain on the mounting holes, mobo, pipes, and may actually shift the cooler over to one side and kinda make a slant, but it has a thin radiator, the h70 has a short cpu block/pump, but a thick radiator, and almost none of the aforementioned shortcomings. however, if you are not going to OC your cpu, the coolit eco II, eco A.l.C., and the eco c80 alc all look quite nice. ill see if i can pull up benchmarks for all 5 coolers.
@ HandMadeAndroid : I will use Yate Loon fans for this mod. They are quiet enough. @ SeneiOnIce : thanks for your kind post Of course I will make my own cables for the PSU. That's why I chose this one And for the cooler I will take the Asetek 570LC
Fat stodgy Cheesecake right here. Please be patient as I change my pants 3 times over. 1: For great photos 2: For epic cables and sleeving 3: For epic hardware
Where do you get the original Asetek-part from? Or are you going with the Corsair H70, which is the same? I can't seem to find Asetek-products being available in retail-stores.
You could honestly take a photograph of the worst hardware available and it would still look fantastic. What you've got is nice though, going to keep an eye on this!
I'm working on a RAM sticker which will fit the mod theme (black, gold, carbon). What do you think about it ?
WOW This mod, this project log, and that sticker are just awesome; shame about the pace tho! hurry dude! MOAR PLEASE!
