Bit of a random one this, but i was wondering if some fellow bit-tech-ers might be able to help, you never know when someones in the know A few years ago i picked up a couple of replica movie swords (Hadafang from LoTR and Blade's Sword to be exact) that I no longer want and was wondering what the best way of disposing of them was? I wouldn't mind getting some pennies for them as the cost me about £250 for the pair, but I have no idea where to shift them. ebay/Amazon don't allow them to be sold on there so I'm kind of stumped. If I cant shift them I'm not sure how to get rid of them, its not like they can be scrapped, and handing them in at the police station will just mean they will be in the pictures in the newspaper next time they have a knife amnesty under some horrific headline So anyone got any advice for me? Thanks Neat
pawn show? online listings like craigs list and kijiji. Or just search for sites where people sell stuff like that.
Cooooooool this is the kind of stuff i buy out of pure impulse buying Not sure where you could get rid of them though is it something your just trying to get rid of or your wanting to actually sell? Because you could try a metal dealer but im not sure you would get much for your money
I've spent many hours Google searching for such a thing, i can find a couple of forums for real swords in the US, but nothing else. I'd Rather sell them, as i presume there worth something, especially hadhafang as it's no longer available. There taking up space though so if i cant, they still need to go, though I'll be sad about it. Didn't think of that, i would assume that swords wouldn't be permitted, wonder if a mod can confirm this? Reasonable amounts, the blade sword is £125 new and hadhafang was £150 when i bought it.
Militaria sites mate, lots of them here in the UK. Most users of said sites tend to be responsible and are happy to provide you with their details/credentials, especially those that trade in deactivated firearms. May be worth a look.
Damn you're not gonna fall for the "I'll take 'em off your hands for a fiver but I'm doing you a favour" routine then But joshing aside and with serous head on broad manly shoulders with knowledge beyond my years; Please do bear in mind that the Nanny state that protects us from ourselves has deemed curved blades over 50cms in length dangerous and therefore bad for us and subsequently banned there sale to us in 2008 This applies to all curved swords be they samurai, sabre, or I hate to say it, replica blades such as you LoTR ones unless you are a registered practising Ninja or re-enactor. My understanding is that whilst we can still own them (I purchased a nice Hero's blade just before the ban out of bloody mindedness) it is an offence to sell them or import them, as far as I am aware this applies to the 2nd hand market too Not trying to blag it off you fella, but please do your homework before offering it for sale lest you get yourself into bother......

http://www.blades-uk.com/ These guys deal in new & used swords & knives etc, seem like a good company by all accounts. If anyone has a Kurgan sword they dont want anymore, let me know....
I am having the same issue, as I am looking to sell on an official united cutlery Lord of the Rings Anduril replica... did anyone find a way of selling their swords online?
