Really like the seperate scores for different platforms instead of lumping it just into one category...

Sorry but I'm confused, how can the same fan have different ratings for different sockets? Or am I missing something here?,,,

    ^Newb, lol.

Different sockets generate different amounts of heat & in different places under the heat-spreader, hence, the same cooler can perform differently on different sockets ( heat pipe locations & spacing being critical quite often ).

It isn't fugly, it's different. And, frankly, I mean it. If you want a omglol killer black cooler, you've got plenty of options, just about every cooler looks exactly the same. Kudos to Tt for doing something different for a change.

And yes, it is nice and quiet.

Also, different sockets have different mounting requirements, leading to different mounting mechanisms which can vary in quality, compatibility and effectiveness.

    Also also, it's not a fan :)

Not sure if this is a typo, or if you genuinely did this......?

But on the AM3 chart you have included a score for the reference intel cooler

(And I quite like the look. Its different and unique. And thats why the magazine isn't called "standard beige box-PC" and Bit-tech's description on google doesn't say "The latest technology, hardware and game reviews and case mods tips on keeping every machine looking the same

    Sorry, well spotted, it's a 2600K.

Corrected! We did indeed use the AM3 reference cooler and didn't use our ninja modding skills to somehow fit an LGA1155 cooler onto a Socket AM3 motherboard :D

Totally agree with the above. Well all but the nice looking part. But fair play to Tt for doing something diffrent. Not sure it matches with the blue motherboard that well though.

I said that in another post and i will say it again: it would be awesome if BT could retest the best socket 1156 coolers with a socket 1155 processor as the new architecture has a different TDP but at the same time a different OC potential...
