Thanks to the glorious of Good Old Games, I've been immersing myself in the world of Syberia, The Longest Journey, and The Last Express. Part of why I love gaming so damn much is discovering classic titles you missed when initially released. Syberia and The Last Express completely passed me by at the time, but I'm adoring the chance to get to grips with them now. Oh, and I've been playing Uplink yet again. Absolute bloody genius is that.
You know, I got stuck on The Longest Journey on the very first screen. I just had no idea what to do. True story. It really annoyed me, because it's supposed to be awesome and I enjoyed Dreamfall.
In situations like that, the internet is there to help you! (use a walkthrough if you get stuck - better to cheat and play the game then not play it at all )
Gonna get stabbed for this. Tried to get in to the original Deus Ex and thought it was gash. I forced myself for 5 hours before I sacked it of to play something ineresting. Guess it was one of those games I should of played at the time. Ed
Lol - me too last night! I thought I would see what all the fuss was about, but just could not get into it. I think that time has not done it justice - I wish I had played it 'in the day' though as I feel like I am on the outside of an exclusive club!!
Anyone remember Castle of the Winds? Played it non-stop back in elementary school and after years of searching remembered the name in a dream! If ya want it it's now free here. I miss being a kid and playing D&D...
Replaying Ultima VII through Exult plus loads of C64/Amiga/Speccy & CPC games through emulators (Last Ninja II on C64 was and still is a top game!).
You can get some mods to fix that. With Deus Ex 3 coming out soon I think a lot more of us will be reinstalling this classic.
I rather like gash.. --- On topic time! Erm I played through Fable again over the weekend (not that old I know). Also started another run through of Final Fantasy 8. For those not in the know..think DirectX 6.1
I want to find and successfully play Hi-Octane. That game was awesome, one of the first I ever played. I don't know that it would still run, though.
Agreed, MGS on the PSX was kick ass and brilliant for it's time. I remember it was the first game that made me think what I was doing... Putting in the second disc and descending the The Forge... fantastic.
Speaking of which i did just recently reinstall it . Also i just recently played through and finished another game. Tachyon: The Fringe it's was fun but i don't think i would replay it that much. Now freespace on the other hand .
