Really disliked the MP. I'll wait and see for the reviews about the SP before I make my final decision.
Yes, I have, and no, I'm not impressed. The game looks merely OK, IMHO, especially when compared to the original which came out... three... years ago now? I live in hope that the DX11 SP version will somehow magically turn everything to 11, but I'm not holding my breath. DX11 is not going to have the impact upon the graphics that you think it will, I fear.
Especially as half the problem is how low-res the textures are. Unless Dx11 includes a massive patch with high-res textures it still won't look that great. Of course they could have just left them out of the demo to cut down on file size.
i'd say the only thing that's preventing my purchase is the current $60 price tag and the uncertainty of single-player. i will definitely pick this up at some point though. MP is very fun and runs great.
For those waiting for the SP experience, here's a good summary. Hey, go here. Kill some bad guys on the way through the linear level designs. Hey you made it, now go here. At least in the first one you could be a little creative about the way you did things. The one thing I really miss is being able to punch down buildings. Break through walls and ceilings to get to enemies. That was my favorite part about Crysis and they took it out.
The main difference appears to be that the pc has better HDR and AF. Apart from that the textures are the same.
The only notable difference is the indoor lighting that is better on the 360. It's a stupid test however because 1) this low res video can't do justice to what the PC can do 2) we already knew they would look about the same because it's another one of the consolified game
PC version runs much smoother. Reviews should be out tomorrow. i smell 8s and possibly 9s. I hope bit-tech does an in-depth review like the review for the first crysis as opposed to the 2 page nonsense as of late.
I'm probably going to be shot down as a Crysis PC fanboi, but the side by side analysis is compressed and the highest resolution it goes to is 720P, so a meaningful comparison I cannot see, especially when the screen is squished horizontally to fit both views in. I must admit though, that Xbox version is looking better to my eyes.... I really can't wait to get this. Had in on pre-order for ages now. Probably show up after the weekend....
Wouldnt say reviews will be in tomorrow... Read a rumour that the Gtx 590 and crysis 2 were slightly delayed. Checked steam and the new release date is the 25th of march
I'm getting excited now. Had a run through of Crysis at the weekend and would be playing Warhead now if I wasn't running an unexpectedly long simulation. I wonder how the DX11 mode will do performance wise? I've seen some DX9 benchmarks which seem promising. Here's to hoping Crysis 2 is fun!
My real concern is that Crysis 2 will never mean what Crysis did to the PC gaming community. It was true landmark. I don't think Crysis 2 will match that.
Greetings! 55?! Really? The graphic settings are fubar. Extreme looks worse than Very High. Are those supposed to be tree leaves (H\VH) or green clouds (E)?
It's on my must-play list when I upgrade my rig. By then the DX (and everything else) will hopefully be fixed.
