Getting a project up and running by early May is pretty tight or does it include work in progress already?

I just checked out the terms & am I correct in thinking I might have to ship my case to them, if this is so I'll definitely pass, but if it's just images then I'm in :D.

    Could someone confirm this?.

And thanks for the heads up arcticstoat, I've never entered a mod competition :thumb:.

That bit in the rules caught my attention as well.. You know, I've always felt like building a kick-ass case out of thin sheets of glass and tin foil. I hope CM or the courier company has good enough insurance when IF the said masterpiece somehow manages to get damaged ;)

Interesting. There was a Time that Bit Tech MotY was the most important contest in the world of casemodding. The cooler master one was a great one too, but BT had more glamour. Now looks like Bit Tech (dennis publishing) doesn't even care for its own employees.

Shame on you Dennis! Shame on you!

I'm also concerned with this term - does it mean you really may need to send it to them for some exhibition or sth?

I hear it's just mad over the top terms that couldn't be followed through in court but hey if you click I agree then maybe not, I didn't like the terms much at all so I didn't bother , glad I read them to be honest, it's not just the part about possibly sending them the case for a week or 2 there was other terms that simply took the P imo.

This is the main 1 why I won't be signing up.

    11. Our right to use your Case Mod and Case Mod images is perpetual and may be assigned by us.
    14. By participating, you conclusively agree to be bounded by these contest rules and conditions. This is an irrevocable condition
    of entry.

Note that it doesn't just say images :worried::eeek:.

I sent email to them, asking about those points, we'll see what they reply.

:duh: Why didn't I think of that :hehe:.
But yeah I'd be interested in what they have to say about that so please share if you get an answer, I still doubt I'd bother with it but yeah I'd like to know all the same :thumb:.

Have you noticed the requirements too:

For the “Tower Mod” category, you can use any chassis (full, mid, M-ATX or M-ITX) made by Cooler Master.

    For the “Scratch Build” category:
The case you use could be built from any material you like
If you choose to use a prefabricated case, please use the following guide lines:
No display of any manufactures logo.
Final product must not be recognizable compared to its original design.
    (1) Cooler Master product must be included in the mod

Sponsors are also not allowed on you build or log

    Hi guys,
Any news on the perpetual rights of the casemode and its pictures?
Would love to have my spaceship come home after its first mission!

You can have sponsors, only you cannot post links to their products.
Also, all modding work must be done by you, not sponsors, for example if someone would mod your PSU or cut something for you being your sponsor. But you can have sponsors for your parts etc.

I suspect they mean the right to design/market cases based on your mod. i.e. this can be seen as a $15k design fee for a potential/new case.

If I won $15k first thing i'd do would be start a new build :D

:D If it was a $15K prize I would be in no matter what but there would be no way I could win it with the stiff competition that would bring , could get some extremely badass tools with that & upgrade my workshop big time & buy a heap of raw materials :D:thumb: but I'm pretty sure the $15k is of the cost of all the prizes, there will be many winners in this comp, think there is a few first places for instance :) so yeah the $15k is split for all the prizes being handed out ;).
