it has been a year since i mod.
now it is time to re-polish my skills.

the victim for this project is

it will be just a simple conversion for common form factor to be used.
the initial plan is to keep the case form being chopped.

I used to work on a G5 at my work and those are some nice cases if you ask me. I like to see people modding them, it kinda makes me laugh to see a Macintosh being stripped for its beautiful exterior.

been facing quite a few small problem.

1st is the hdd cage. (not enough space for it and the g5 air baffle /deflector in place)

2nd is the front IO cable. (not long enough for it to reach, i managed to burn a speaker by plugging in the wrong pin :wallbash:)

before giving up or taking some rest form modding.
i managed to do some test fitting with some hardware.

hardware use will be going in the g5 case.

    processor - intel i5 750
    motherboard - asus p7p55d-e-pro
    ram - corsair xms3 2x2 gb
    graphic - gigabyte gtx 260+
psu - gigabyte odin gt 550w (not seen yet)
hdd - WD 808gb (not seen yet)

u can see about the wire will have no space to route once the psu placed.

the g5 and my current lian li g7b

    hardware gutted out :D

    that is all.
more work is being done. seen u soon.

If Apple does one thing right every time its make beautiful cases. Me watch.

Maybe you can mount the HDD rack standing up. Or if you can find a small enough one on its side.

What strikes me is the genious way you made the bracket for the GFX. Just pushing it a bit further in. It's frikkin awesome! Why didn't I think of that!? That would have saved me 2 billion years in workarounds!

    Loving it! :thumb:

yea. about the hdd cage. i got another lian li hdd cage. it will just fit into the place. the only thing is, it is not as striking as the original hdd cage.

thanks, love ur work too. especially the waterblock for the graphic care.
ur project was the inspiration for this mod.

the bracket is design to be used with this converter.

it will fit exactly into the space in between.

beside that, the apple io port which i cut will fit into the original position without any problem with this bracket.
