Thanks Ziip, I wasn't sure about the green LEDs but they turned out better then I thought behind the smoke acrylic.
I got started on the roof line LEDs , and more panel details.
As for the hardware, I'm not sure if I should bite the bullet and go with the E.E CPU or something more affordable like the 950 and use this as a upgrade path to the E.E.
    Thanks for your support.:thumb:

Ooooo, decision time. surely the 950 would suffice for pretty much anything, unless you're going to running something incredibly CPU intensive.

I just want to see this behemoth all together and fired up!

Ok, couple of questions and suggestions:

    1. Why didn't you try to get the hardware sponsored? Im sure lots of brands would love to get involved in this insane scratch build?

    2. The new Sandy Bridge platform should be quite good - you can OC an i7 2600K to more than 5 GHz - on AIR! Imagine what you can do with watercooling....

So, why not wait a couple of months with getting the hardware? If there's one thing I've learnt from my own project then it's to wait with getting the hardware until the case is almost complete - unless you risk ending up with rather obsolete hardware. Ok, I'm sure the hardware you listed won't be anywhere close to being obsolete in a couple of months, but what if your time plan doesn't hold up? Unforeseen things CAN occur, y'know?

Ya I agree with you NutMan, the sandybridge platform does offer a lot of upside. I rebuilt my pc and a friends this year with the x58 sabertooth and was able to get a very stable 4.0 overclock on this board. It really was a hard choice, but it came down to the reliability of the x58 platform .
As for sponsorship, I'm seeking that for my CPU, powersupply and watercooling.
Bill Owen gave me some great advice about how to go about that and I'm hoping something comes from that soon.

I was going to wait til the entire case was completed to get my hardware but really can't afford to fork out $2500-3000 in one shot. Buying my specs when I had some extra cash was easier on my budget.
Heck.. Hardware become obsolete so fast these days anyways.

Biohazard Computer Case Mod Update June 6th

Blue Horse Studios is proudly sponsored
    BY

On todays update Im going to finish up all the raw construction on the front panel and spray my first coats of primer.

I started off today by defining the roofline with some generator towers.

Doing a dry fit to check for any gaps within the seams of the two structures.

Now I want to build out on this structure by adding antannas and support columns.

Here Ive added the tower to the main structure and applied two coats of primer

Now I'll begin working my way around the roofline adding more detail pieces.

With the right side completed I'll now construct the left side.

Im applying modelers putty within the seams and doing a light sanding before and after my first coats of primer.

More model pieces help define and detail the structure.

Now I'll spray my final coats of primer and prep for paint.

Heres a final look at the structure before I go into all the paint and weathering details.

And a look with the LEDs illuminated.
On my next update I'll finish the paint, construct the motherboard tray , I/O panel and reveal some of my hardware choices.
Part 12 of my video worklogs are in final edit and will be posted in a few days.

    Stay Inspired and Keep Creating!!
