Graphics perfect card (£100 to £150) to go with phenom ii x4 955 (?)

    A GTX560 or a HD6950 if you want to stretch.

    But if you want to go cheap get a HD5850 or a HD6850.

    I'd still go with the GTX560 or HD6950, those things are great.

    If you can stretch to a 560ti then go for it - its a great card. The cheapest i can find is £175 though.

    If you cant go over £150 then consider either a 6850 or a 1GB 460 - these are still great cards & you can pick up a 1GB 460 for £135. This will easily cope with all modern games.

    But if i was you & with your monitor res - i would save up for a little while longer & opt for a 560ti.

    Radeon HD 5850 Xtreme would be my choice in that price range.

    I wouldn't bother with the 6870, or 460, get a xfx 5870 from scan for £150 or stretch to giantkiwi's second hand 6950, or failing that the 560 I'd say would be your only option from nvidia if you want to use physx

    i guess the other option would be to look at something like a second hand GTX 295 or 4870x2, as both are rated as being faster than the 5870, 6850, 470... & should be within budget - though of course have a fairly high power draw...

    [NB this is simply based upon the performance & cost - but for clarity i've got one of the latter listed on eBay atm so it 'could' be argued that i have a bias for this suggestion; hence being upfront about it.]
