512MB seems a bit low for recommended spec...... i wish it'd be 1GB, 512MB will seem like blurry textures ported from console.

 

They've been saying that from the beginning. Windows XP is out to, it's going to be Vista/W7 only

 

if DX9 is out, cant blame them, its really really old tec now, did it not come out 2004-5 or something?

 

the first DX9 card was the Radeon 9700 which came out in august 2002 I believe

almost 10 year old tec then... if anyone is bitching about lousing DX9 support needs to kindly buy a xbox

 

There's a very big +1 for you right here my friend.

 

The thing keeping hardcore PC gamers tied to DX9 is likely XP. A fair amount of people are still willing to forfeit DX10/11 advantages in favor of getting to stay on XP.

 

I have no issue with it personally (I ditched XP on my gaming box a long time ago) but I would be surprised to see them drop support; a bold move in this day and age.

 

I don't have a problem with it ether, I upgraded my OS and my ram so I could play BF3. I'm still going to wait a while up upgrade my GPU. If you want to play these games you should have semi-current hardware.

 

Well, I am about to confess something here that will be tantermount to sacrilige.

I have never played a shooter on PC. Ever.

I can assure you that that will change when BF3 is released. This looks absolutely amazing.

 

Ah well better late than never and once you've played a shooter with a mouse and keyboard there isn't any going back!

 

My best mate has been saying that for a long time. Sadly, my current PC (Sony Vaio - I know, I know ) is not exactly game friendly.

Hopefully, my kick ass system will be up and running before BF3 arrives. Monetary situation permitting, of course.

For me, playing a FPS game with a controller feels like trying to skate on the ice while wearing rollerblades.

I played some great FPS games on consoles like Golden Eye,Halo 1, Perfect Dark , Metroid Prime and probably others but those would have all been a thousand time better with a mouse and a keyboard (I know Halo 1 was released for the PC but it came 2 years later)
