    I thought both ME1 and 2 WERE shooter-meets-RPG:confused:

What do they want...more shooter? or more RPG?
    How is it classed now?

No, the first ME was more RPG meets Shooter (more like Fallout 3). Borderlands would probably been a better example of Shooter meets RPG.

ME2 was a step more towards the Shooter direction at the expense of RPG elements (like the Inventory, Character Progression etc.). Although admittedly they did buff up the Storytelling experience, it was still a big change from the first game.

well taking the crews armor out from the first one was imo a way for them to bust out as many mass effect sequels as they wanted with the least amount of work.. then they wouldn't have to bother with a whole set for each companion- and the planet scanning =p

I enjoy that kind of thing though, hunting down and buying/mixing and matching the best armors, weapons.. I know it's beyond console gamers now days to think like that.. they want a pie sploshed in their face and then tell them their balls are cannon sized and they're happy to part with 50 bucks

I haven't gamed in weeks now xD probably time to give it up

Something about this really disappoints me and it isn't the change of release date.
ME2 was already hugely streamlined over the first. Whilst I can see the issue of attracting new customers to the final part of a trilogy, when they suggest making it more mass market friendly it just really worries me... Time will tell i suppose.

I'm hoping this means that a giant human shaped robot built by enslaved zombie cyborg aliens isnt a good plot line and they redeveloped the script for ME3 to make it suck less than ME2.

Actually i found it rather nifty to learn that each Reaper is made using an amalgamation of Reaper Technology and a Civilization's DNA.

Being human shaped was rather lame, but i liked the concept.

I agree the idea was good I just hated the fact it was a giant human robot!
