There was that EA sale week, and Battlefield had Sunday I think, Bad Company was £3.75

I think this is a bad week to compare steam sales because of the EA sale thats been on. Not surprising its No1 if it was only £3.75????

I bought BFBC2 + Vietnam in the steam sale. Cost me ~£12 when otherwise it would have cost £30.

Although i can't even play it on min settings on my current 3 year old laptop :(. But hey it was cheap

The Steam top 10 is a bit pointless since there was an EA sale all week and the majority of the top 10 are EA titles.

    True. But...

    A) Steam isn't the only place that can run discount sales
    B) It's not really fair grounds to dismiss it either

True but it doesn't really match up when you say:

"And, for perspective, here's the current UK best-sellers on Steam..."

It's only really perspective if you mention that there was a sale last week.

A good friend of mine saw Dylan Moran in Reading last week...she arrived late and was told off.

    Small world.

A perfectly timed sale for BC2 when those with the PS3 version know they wont be playing it for another month..

    Hi Joe,

I take your point, but realistically, I've never seen a UK games retailer offer publisher specific sales, let alone franchise specific. You're right that you can't simply dismiss the sales figures - after all, those items WERE sold - so it IS the Steam top 10... however, it isn't appropriate to directly compare these to the general top 10. Likewise, I don't know if you've been in a Gamestation in the last year (I'm guessing you have), but since they were bought by Game most of the ones near me don't even SELL PC games any more, which hardly makes their stats valid either.

Sometimes you just can't win, eh?

Better off looking at Amazon's sales figures in my opinion.

    Ben

Heh, an old game like MoH:Airborne in the top 10...
I bought it as well for 2,50€

Who said pricing doesn't influence sales? :D
