it's not listed here, and its description offers no insight.

30m seems a long time per-frame for a non bigadv unit, even 2GHz dual-core can complete standard smp units quicker than that [i know because i have my parent's work pc folding], my 920 completes them in 4:30 [@3.8] - 5:30 [@ stock] per frame on average

lets hope the points are worth it, i hope its not the new 2684 [took forever for little reward]

Yup I looked before posting, however they do run specials and this one has a finish date in 55 days+ the normal smp's running have an iteration time of 6-8 mins on this setup. I am reluctant to dump it though. It will just make it before the end of the chimp Challenge

Glad to see we are still solid in 4th place, well done everyone so far for your hard efforts :thumb:

For those that are running bigadv's that take 2+ days to run I think it would be a good idea to swap to normal SMP work unit's today or tomorrow when you finish your next bigadv.

This will ensure we go out with a nice score and ensure bigadv points aren't credited after the challenge has finished, this also allows you to change back to you normal user name quicker once the challenge has finished. Up to you but I will be on my slower bigadv rigs
    :)

Keep up the good work, not long to go now :thumb:

when taking off the -bigadv flag on the v6 client do you then have to restart it or will it recognise the change after finishing the current WU?

Yes mate you will have to restart the client :)

Personally I stopped mine and added -oneunit flag at the end then restarted it. When it finishes the current bigadv the client will automatically close then I will just removed the -oneunit and -bigadv flags and start the client up with just -smp. Just need to make sure you are about when the bigadv is due to finish ;)

Unfortunately, whatever I'm not doing has hit a snag resulting in none of the nodes being able to connect to Stanford's assignment or results servers since approx 19:00 last night :wallbash:

There has been a few people experiencing this like Taffy which has eventually cleared, fingers crossed that whatever you are not doing flushes its non existent WU's soon!

It could be, we (everybody taking part in the CC) have been requesting a lot more bigadvs than we would normally over a 2 week period. Either way, the processing increase can only be considered a good thing given all the evil things misfolding proteins cause.

I've noticed we're slipping, not only are the Aussies closing in with chimp points, the Russians look set to overtake our points total. Here's hoping James get's that thing sorted that he's not doing.

its times like this I wish I'd been into modding PC's for longer or had enough cash for cutting end hardware. My measly GTX260 and 6000 x2 have been left on for days straight now, I've never done that before but its all i've got!

    2am PDT/10am BST Update

ChimPowerUp have now reached the 100 Chimp Point mark

OCNChimpin have [going by the smack talk box on HWC] all but given up on catching Beavers_Gone_Bananas and ChimPowerUp and are instead aiming to hit 100 million point before the deadline.

A bigadv drop has reinforced our 4th position with Monkey_Bollocks 3.95 points behind.

TSCh!mp and T32monkeys are trading blows in 6th and 7th on 49.95 and 49.79 point respectively.

You don't have to do that, stop the client, remove -bigadv, then restart it. Next WU will be standard SMP.
