I REALLY TRY right now the mdf just lays around in the workshop and silently yells at me: *whisper* "rooooouuuuuutttteeeeeee meeeeeeeeee rooooououuuuuttteeeeee meeeeeee"

Ah, btw did i mention we now have a plasma cutter and going to hook it up to the cnc soon ???

Ok ok... V3 is running, so after figuring out that the 12mm bit holder MIGHT not hit the mold while routing ( im still not exactly sure, gonna be fun to route them... )

I glued all the parts together:

Routing the rough mold, then sanding and laquring it a couple of times to get a nice surface for laminating...

This was just the first roughing pass, ill do another finish run on it.

i took some video footage aswell but i still have to edit and upload it...

It's a mold. A little mud and sanding will fix the polygons.
I'm just glad this started.
Set up another comp nearby so you can model for contest #6 while you babysit.

 

The mold looks amazing itself, now put some carbon fiber on that bitch

 

Its not exactly a david hidden in the mdf... its much better

the bad polys sit in between the top and bottom half of the case covers anyway, ittl be cut away later

soonish... first: tedious sanding, soaking in epoxy, tedious sanding, fillering ?, tedious sanding, fillering, tedious sanding, laquing with an "indicator" coat, tedious sanding, clearcoat....

btw guys any ideas for the big "ring" part of the case material wise ? It shall be laquered glossy white when its finished, alu would be to expensive / would take to long to route i think, any ideas ?
