    We've been using big chunks of plexiglas where aluminum would be too expensive. You will want to use an etching primer on it.
    You should rout it too. If you fear it will take to long, make sure your zero point is where you can park the machine overnight, and take note of the line you stopped at. The 'go to' function is a lifesaver.:D

    Yeah i was thinking about summin like that, but im not really sure yet, if u have a close look at my nautlus contest entrys u can see that theres a swivel function build in the ring ( which will be servo activated in the mod... in my dreams :D ) so i would have to reinforce it with aluminium plates or something...

    concerning the actual contest, its just too much work to fail getting more votes then darky :D

    concerning my sanity;

    This is me working on nautilus

    this is my number plate....

    lurking somewhere in the shadows....

    I made up my mind for the ring, its gonna be routed either from acryl or from pom /pe and then sandwhiched between aluminium, the whole things gonna be visibly bolted together, that way i can easily mount the stand, the motherboard tray and various holders for fans ( or if someone is willing to sponsor me ;) ) radiators.

    I remember seeing this in the design contest last year. It's nice to see it in production. Those wooden moulds look like pebbles in some of those photos. Can't wait to see it progress!

    Could you do us a favor and write a bit about layering CF when you get to it? I've been wanting to do a FG/CF project for ages bud don't have access to vacuum bags etc.
