Is it just me, or does Black Ops, on PC, have a ridiculously high bandwidth usage? Since transferring from an unlimited connection the a connection limited to 10GB, I've had to be more careful with bandwidth usage. After looking at how much data is transmitted in ~10 minutes, it's over 50 MB. You can probably guess my data allowance is being used up pretty quickly. I was wondering if anybody else had a similar issue, and if anyone had some sort of possible remedy, apart from stopping playing Black Ops.
That was the most unhelpful post ever ! EPIC FAIL not sure on how much it uses as i don't have the game but you will not be able to alter it. why the drop to 10GB a month that a talk talk free broadband or sky free package ?
yup. Although it's a bit strange to go to a limited usage package if your a gamer, especially when playing more graphical intensive games like Black Ops
You do know the graphics are only client side right? All actions are taken as data strings. Having a download limit shouldnt be a problem for a gamer, ive had one in the past and never exceeded it.
I have a 30GB/month one at Uni and gaming can take big bites out of that. I calculated a maximum of about 200mb/hr, IIRC...
by graphical intensive i meant larger more detailed environments with more stuff to interact with, means you can do a lot more stuff and lot more going on which would mean more data transmitted. Well in my theory it should lol. I suppose if you dont use VOIP and such, it could reduce bandwidth by fair amount
I wouldnt know last 2 years though, last year I was on 100MB/s this year I'm on 50Mb/s both uncapped.
Ok - just to explain my capped bandwidth - I ended up getting it as a part of a bundle. In hindsight, it was a poor idea. But now I'm stuck for 18 months with this package.
black ops is just a mess all round tbh. havent played online for months, the best thing to do would be errrrrm. buy bc2?
