    lol, :)

Progress has finally started again, I began my printing out a template from Sketchup and taped it to an acrylic strip:

    I then milled it out:

Unfortunately I forgot to clamp the end of the second piece :(:

I then finished the soldering on the LED's:

Heres both the acrylic and front door panel:

I didn't mill the diagonal parts so I can file them down bit by bit to make it fit perfectly:

I found wrapping sand paper around a file works better than the actual file

I then used a ball end cutter on the dremel to cut a channel out for the LED wires, its abit messy but it wont be visible when Im finished:

I then glued the acrylic onto the side of the front panel, in preparation for the JB weld:

I then soldered and glued in the wire for the LED's:

    Thanks everyone :thumb:

The new acrylic and alu hasnt arrived yet so I started work on the fan again. I began by cutting a block to size:

I then milled down the ends to make them smoother:

I then milled off the corners:

    Then drilled a guide hole:

And then drilled it all the way through:

I then widened the hole for the bearings:

I then glued the bearings in:

I stuck some neoprene on the bottom just to test the fan, and it works great:

It justs need attaching to the side panel now, once the side panel is made.

When I saw that led acrylic piece I was like "no way you can finish this piece!" but you did it!!! So difficult without a cnc or laser as its really thin! And the fan.... wow bro you amaze me all the time!! Mod on my friend :)

Thanks everyone :thumb:, the fan looks even cooler with LED's behind it, but I'm saving thoughs photos for some later eye candy :)

I actually tried to get that acrylic and the next part I'm gonna do made with a laser cutter but they said it was too thin.

    Thanks ColdzeroTeam :D

The part is very harder, I now have to cut out some 5mm wide strips of 1mm aluminium to match the top and front panels. I've spent 6hr or should I say I wasted 6hr just trying to figure out how to make them, thankfully I've found a way though and the results will be posted tomorrow.

Why can't I have this level of skill? :(

My dremel work is pretty subpar compared to all this stuff!

Ah well as soon as I finish off my Phantom I'll upload it anyway :)

Ah it's not 100% a matter of skill although it is in operating a manual mill & a lathe nicely & having a good plan (design) to follow.

I'm personally loving seeing what people with the access to upper level tools are making though, great stuff :).

The amount of cutting discs you'd get through to get a really rough version of some of these parts would be sheer madness :D be better to use a hacksaw & files for some bits but round parts I believe need a lathe to do great parts, think I want to get a lathe more than a mill for my next tool, mills are too expensive for a hobby so I'd get a router instead & get good at using it :thumb:.

I started off using a dremel & a couple of other basic tools & found the dremel to be good for thin materials but useless on thick materials, but dremels have many many other uses as demonstrated in the wire management channel on this :thumb:.
