Looking at the pics you've got a nice finish. Like the lads have said practise makes perfect. It's coming along nicely, take your time and it'll all be just fine. Here's a little tip for you, give the paint a few days to dry and then go over it with some T cut 2 in 1 paint restores/wax. Itwill put a lovely shine on it.

hey guys a big update as i have spent the whole weekend get this thing as near completion as i can. I say near because its going to be an on going project (cable sleeving and a new window)
    so heres goes

The laquer has dried (i gave it a couple of days) its time to put the case together.

Firstly the rivet gun and rivets, 100 of them (Only 25 in pic :D)

time to put the panels together. As you can see from the pics i have left the one of the panels as black I wanted to give it a bit of a contrast and i completely forgot about the piece :D

All the panels are riveted together all holes filled :naughty::worried:

I then had a brainwave :idea: why not put the SSD on the back of the case. So i began to measure and drill 2 holes

    Viola! SSD attached perfectly

Right so on to fitting all the plastic parts and get this case finished

First i decided to use the U channel that i had left over from the window mod to put around all the holes that i have cut and the pre cuts ones as it looked good and would protect the paint work when i put through molex connectors etc.

So on with the plastic fittings

    SQUIRRAL!!!!

Now to operate on the rig. TIme for a transplant :dremel:

    Hard drives

    SSD

And now for the rest of system

    Thanks for the nice comments.

You can still do the outside of the case once it's all gone back together. The inside isn't quite so important.. It just gives it that final little polish and brings it up really nice. Quite often i'll go over the whole case 3 or 4 times. it also helps to stop dust sticking to it.

Edit: I've just seen the 2nd part of the update, it didn't come up when I logged on, it's all gone together already.

Black and orange is always a winner, going to look good when it's finished.

Ran into a problem with the NZXT fan controller. As i was using LED fans they kept pulsating so i had to go buy a analogue controller. I bought the Zalman ZM-MFC 1 Plus so had to the cable managment again :waah::waah::wallbash:

Everything up a running with the fan controller

    everything cleaned and sorted

    Window mod (messed up) shot

    Front & fan controller shot

Thats all for NOW but will be back with a better window mod and cable sleeving would love to hear comments on how it looks

Thanks for all the support and kind words i received :thumb:

That's a really tidy job. The zalman controller suits it .
A nice bit of black braiding on the cable would finish it off nicely.

Edit: you ninja'd me on the cabling...lol

Me personally, I would go with black, you've got a nice balance with the case against the hard ware, to much orange could be a bit to over powering. But it's your rig so what ever you're happiest with.

I would agree on the black, there's a lot of orange going on already, I think the cables would get "lost" in all that orange... not to mention it might not match the shade correctly either... but like bulldogjeff said, It's your rig, whatever makes you happy :)

Mate, I would polish caps, de sticker everything and have Martin at http://www.psychosleeve.com/ sleeve everything for you. Also I would paint the PSU ;). But very good job otherwise! :D

Awesome, that was pretty quick! Very clean, and I'd say all black sleeving as well to contrast the already very orange interior. The PSU needs a bit of attention though, sticker has to go...

    Looking cool!

Only thing letting it down for me is the yellow on the PSU, the red bars on the Frio, and the blue stickers on the 580. Sort them out and it would REALLY look the part IMO.

    Otherwise great work mate! :D
