I suggest that we should hold up to the original intention, modify a CM HAF, not starting a scratch. Also by the word 'frame' i understand basic chasis - plain SECC frame completly stripped off w/o any plastic parts, fans, whatever, with the same dimensions. tho Confusis said we can cut it, im going the 'do not cut your HAF' way.

Any sign that you were at least trying to use the haf model would help here...

Today's work, still a lot to do. What's new ?

    - Added a dual 200mm Rad on top
    - Made a custom "heat exchanger" on the back. It's made of a single block, which includes a 140mm rad in the center and 2 "channels" at the entry and at the exit. Those channels help to dissipate heat through the back fins.

Hope you like the idea

That's the Tyan Thunder n4250QE I think. C'mon, use the Tyan Thunder M4985-SI Expansion Board & HT-cards as well. You know you want to. :D

Edit: Come to think of it - maybe you already did. Hard to tell from the pictures.

That heat exchanger/radiator combo is delicious.

Update incoming tonight .... I did fit the expansion board .... 8x opterons + 2x Radeon 6990 .... with everything watercooled (well, massive use of custom cooling hardware )

Just need to add the hotswap HDD bay.

    Done, update incoming

Still working on mine. I'm not too experienced with sketchup so things are taking a bit more time to do than it would for others. I don't stand a chance against the epic monster hafenstein anyway. ;D

    Today's update :

I'm near final design. Still have to refine the overall look, but I'm happy with the concept :D.

Here are the pics (I know, it looks like a snail or a "@")

I hope you like the idea. I still have to make the CPUs blocks.

There won't be much tubing since I decided to use "channels" acting like passive heat-spreader.

Edit : Close-up to the custom Radeon 6990 block (inspired by the enzotech GTX 295 block)

Wow nice designs just wanted to ask a question i came across this from a link on MNPC Tech. I was wondering if i would be able to make an entry being i just joined the site or do you guys have a rule about being here for so long or something before you can enter? I looked but didn't see anything about this in any of the rules.

    Aye, that's looking sweet!

Had even less time than I was expecting to work on this, and really can't dedicate any more time to it, so this is what I've got to finish with.
