Thanks a lot. For the LED, I do not know right now. It was easy to do that with IDE drive, but SATA HDD do not have a built-in activity pin. The pin 11 on the SATA power connector can be used for that purpose, but it is an optional feature of the SATA standard and not all HDD does use it.

Some hardware RAID card does feature a header that allow 1 LED per drive. I'm searching the WEB for backplane that implement individual LED activity.

Thanks Razer ..... so horizontal rad for you :thumb:

It's guille's show ATM. Won't someone come and knock him off the throne?

I like the fanguard/heatsink integration. Makes me want to invest in stamp forging of some.

@Razor - A Mexican bride would be cheaper nowadays. Do you like tattoos? (...Did I just say that?:worried:)

Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptangya Ziiinnggggggg Ni ?? :waah:

    Happy holiday Dark

Edit : A little idea I had this noon during lunch. A control panel embedded inside the HDD bay door. Could display temp, bandwidth, memory, etc. This is a work in progress and I have to refine the design to route the data cable inside the case ... but that won't be too hard. Hope you like the idea.

Now that is an even cooler HDD bay now, you need to make it so it has a stepped motor and a relase button to automatically lower the door and give access the HDD :naughty:

Let me know how you go with the raid cards too or the backplane card that allows the seperate HDD light activity as its something i definately want to impliment in my scratch build ;)

You read my mind mate, I was working on a motorized opening / closing system. Not fixed on the solution to implement due to the relative weight of the door.

Please slap together a rough and submit it. We're low enough on entries as it is.

@Guille - If you work out any more details, you will have to build this.:D
