Just braiding various cables, and I've come to the front pannel audio cable. Question is, do I need the ZC'97 connector, or can I simply cut it off?

Can you tape it up and hide it?

I've heard you can cut it off. But I would just tape it away.

Well I want to braid the cable, so removing it would make life massively easier...

Does the braid fit over the connector when you pull it back in line with the other cable?
    (assuming its like this..)

It will, but trying to get both in the braid will be a huge pain plus the bulge will look rubbish...

Where is the port on your motherboard?
On my P6T its right along the bottom edge(which I think is standard). Also my utgard has a little hole just under the motherboard which I use for this purpose. In my case(no pun intended), The bulge would not be visible.

What about taking the end plastic connector off then tape the wires so they don't touch?

I'm just leaving it for now, my paranoia is too rampant to remove it :p

Personally I never bother with the front panel audio connections anyway and just cable tidy them out of the way, the Aego M's have a headphone jack on the sub so I use that :thumb:

Are you fretting about your nice shiny new case already Pete???

You've only had it 5 minutes :hehe: :p

Gah, why didn't I think of that??? My SP2500's have a headphone output too!!! Urg!

And you'll love the cable management I've done so far...
