One of the greatest animated films ever created is on Sky tonight at 10pm, channel 114 (Syfy)

The sound track at the beginning when they are on the motorbikes is one of my favourite bits of cinema, pretty much ever. It's got such a good balance of sound and visuals, let alone a beautiful concept for a plot. Really regret not buying the paperbacks before my previous job went bust at Borders...

I really can't stand Akira, I don't know what it is about that anime but it just doesn't sit with me. I tried to watch it a couple of times after the first time of seeing it through but it just got worse and worse.
I'd really like to enjoy it because so many seem to love it, but I just can't...

Nah, but all my computers take a name from the various motorcycle gang members in that film... Just a random factoid for you. :p

I read the info and thought this will be a great film, however i then realised it was a cartoon, so i didnt bother.

Each to their own i suppose though, hope you enjoyed it.

The fact you dismiss animation out of hand says much about your so called maturity.

The fact that youve realised your just a child, shows that you have no maturity whatsoever.

about time you discovered girls etc.

    This.

Animation is art. When done in an adult fashion it's an expression far greater than any live action can achieve.

The Manga is so much better and deeper than the movie. It's well worth the investment in time and monies :)

Lol, good sir. Lol. What are you, 19

As bindibadgi put, art has no boundaries. If your stupid shortsightedness stops you from learning to recognise this, then go back to your fhm and max power and save the actual interesting discussions for the real men.

Back on topic: did you guys know that a live action adaptation is being made? Keanu reeves is involved. I fear it will suck hard.

We better not let him know about Waltz with Bashir, the 18-rated commentary on the Israel-Lebanon war. His poor brain might explode. Whoops! Too late!
