    As good as the PSU might be (whine aside), this lack of attention to detail is simply not good enough for a PSU that costs just shy of £300.

    £290 here, but $299 in the US? Even after accounting for tax, that's quite a rip-off.

    It is just me, or was there no temperature testing? I know these monsters are out of my need, but surely their efficiency decreases as temperature increases...

    @tonyd223 We weren't able to test in a temperature controlled lab although the ambient temperature would only have fluctuated by a couple of degrees at most so would have a negligible impact on the results. I think it's fair to say that the ambient temperature range your typical PSU will encounter is very small. Many PSU manufacturers recommend operating temperatures below 50'C too and the fan would also spin up meaning obtaining useful results would be difficult.

    @Chicken76 I'll check this with James and Paul who did the testing and get back to you.

    Anyone else look at that and feel like vomiting? I know it's not about looks and all....but their revolution series was so much prettier. Also £290 for a power supply? ROFL!

    The hold-up tests were carried out 100% load, split pretty across all the rails with an emphasis on the 12V rails, as that's where most of the power draw is from a modern PC.

    GPU folding/processing has all but disappeared and there is very little needed for multi GPU gaming hardware currently. I'm failing to see who would possibly buy this.

    Was there whine at loads lower then 100% ? I can't see a PSU like this running at 100% in the real world.

    If you're going to cry about the sleeving, how about also adding a proper photo of the problem? Now there are just 4 photos of the unit itself, with barely any cables showing (yes, I can see some cables, but so what? If the sleeving really is a problem on a £300 unit, surely it's worth a proper picture?).

    Lovely PSU though.

    £300 for a psu - I would expect cables to come in a range of optional lengths at least

    VAT at 20% means the 'excluding VAT' price is (roughly): £241.67

    Now, the current UK / US exchange rate is (roughly): £1 = $1.60 (Or $1 = £0.62 for those that prefer)

    So the comparable price of the unit in both countries, both without taxes is:

    UK = £241.67 / $386.67
    US = £185.38 / $299

    That's an approximate 30% premium we're expected to pay in the UK that has nothing to do with tax.

    Anyone else feel like these companies are taking the p*** out of us?

    Dont forget the sales tax that will be added to the US purchase price..varies from state to state though, but i think is an average 8%, even so were still being ripped off...

    Actually, you can discount the sales tax, I've never been charged sales tax for purchasing online at Newegg :D

    You folks over there really do get ripped off.

    Also, I would just go with the Antec.
