No, although a couple of friends and I did use our laptops once as a mini LAN party.

The trick is to shut the lid firmly and yank as hard as you can . As for the reason? At the risk of sounding like an arrogant tosser, I entered a bodybuilding competition a few years ago. Not doing that again!

Have you ever ran multiple extensions and multi-bar plug adaptors from a single plug-socket? ie turning one plug into four, then plugging another 4 plug adaptor into that one as you ran out of plugs. (I do it all the time at home that is.... so far so good)
