Thanks IcyAero, I use 240 grit wet & dry to get out the deep scratches then I use 320 grit Wet & Dry in opposite directions to remove the scratches from the 240 grit, then I finally use the 320 to carefully create the brushed effect. The hard part is getting every swipe perfectly straight, otherwise it looks messy. I alway use water with the Wet & dry to prolong the life of the sandpaper, and to contain the dust.

Lol :D, thanks for the awesome feedback everyone :thumb:

Today I've sanded all the JB weld off the acrylic strips and the excess off the alu casting:

Its also slightly polished just like the top panel one was before painting:

I also glued some heatshrink onto the panel hinge to give the wire some extra strength for when door is opened and closed:

:jawdrop: Unbelievably beautiful. Stunning work of art. Hexagons are definitely the new black (as I think was said on the phinix tower thread some time ago!).

I think the reason why I didn't really reply in here, was that it's difficult for me to find words for it!

It's just amazing! The design is beautifull, and the craftmanship is flawless! Cudos to you sir! :thumb:

Thanks for the amazing comments everyone :thumb:

Here's the next update. I cut out a piece of 2mm alu sheet using the jigsaw:

I then filed it down so that it fits nicely inside the front door panel:

The finishing part of the top panel arrived today:

Its a 35 pores per inch sheet of open cell Polyurethane foam based on Polyether:

Here's some eye candy of it glued into the top panel:

Here's the foam cut out ready for the front panel:

Damn. This thing should be in an art gallery when finished. Nothing big for starters. I'm thinking something along the lines of Tate Modern?

Thanks everyone :thumb:, your comments continue to fuel my work :)

Yeah its awesome stuff, though took me ages to find a company that would actually sell me some in a relatively small quantity. I've made do with a 1.5 by 1 meter sheet of it lol, its expensive stuff too.

Yeah lol maybe we should all start the Bit-Tech exhibit :)

If only I had the spare time :(
