Hello, Im Looking for a LGA1155 CPU Cooler for about £15-20, & was thinking about the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro or the Gelid Tranquillo, but the review's on bit-tech dont say if they are compatible with Intel's 1155, will these fit ? Any help on the matter would be appreciated.
Thank you for the clarification, its just a bit confusing when it only says 1156, Is there much difference between the 7 & 13?
Yeah 1156 spacings are the same, so it will fit. I would say in your price range the tranquillo would be a great buy
Thank you for replying, as im a noob at DIY PC's I thought it would be best to ask first before I went out & brought one & found it did not fit. Question solved
It got reviewed on bit-tech back in 2010 Here's the review http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2010/01/20/gelid-tranquillo-cpu-cooler-review/1
Depends on the processor you are using. If you are using a standard non-K processor and won't be doing anything heavy you could get away with the stock cooler ok. Or use the freezer if wanting something 'prettier'. If you are planning on over clocking or doing heavy work loads, I would suggest spending an extra few pennies for the tranquillo, keeps my 2600k @ 4.7Ghz under 70 degrees with 24x7 running.
I will be using a i3 1155, not overclocking it & with the hd3000 graphics. Build is here http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=212562 . Thank you for replying.
In that case, it won't need anything more than the retail cooler in all honesty. If you will be using large photoshop files regularly you may want to consider getting 8Gb of ram with the extra £20 you have. You can get 2x4Gb dimms on offer for £50-£60 quite regularly on aria.co.uk with their deal of the day offers. I would also consider a different board too, you can get an MSI one for quite a few quid cheaper that would do exactly the same as the one you have currently if you can find it in stock: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-172-MS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1907 If you are only going for an i3 setup, I wouldn't worry about spending a hundred quid on a board, just go for something that will do the job. With the cash saved, you could maybe bump up the CPU... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-363-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1275
thank you for the advice, thats the kind of thing I was looking for when I posted that thread. I will now take a look at the products you sugested. Also for the photography I try to get the picture as perfect as posible on the the camera, the main reason I use photoshop is for black & white as it is best to capture the picture in colour than convert it to b&w.
