GuilleAcoustic and KayinBlack, you have my vote. For the next contest, I would also say it's not a good idea to only do it invitational. I think not many people will actually be there to do the event, I for one, missed this event due to a lack of time, and I'm sure other people will have this aswell. So I think only a few will be left there entering in the contest. Which wouldn't be good to have in a high-quality contest
GuilleAcoustic - fortunately for us, not so much for you, there has been a new requirement added for the winner of this sketch-up contest: Okay, I made that up but it would be sooo cool to see your design come to life p.s. Bindi don't ban me for 'mis' quoting confusis, all done in fun
Still a lil' more than 2 weeks to go. Everything can change and eeced is really close. Lot's of nice designs here. I'm glad you like the CU-932, thanks . I'm still not 100% sure with the one I'll really build. Many ideas I want to try (and SU is nice for that). I do like Monolith but I'm not too happy with it. This one is nice too, but cost wise ........ . I'm trying somthing steampunkish too, close to a clock mecanism. I'm kind of a dreamer and can barely restrain my brain inside my head.
Over the past two months, we've had 18,000 + views! and I've had more questions about Sketchup offlist than any past contest. You guys have inspired a lot of the lurkers to download sketchup and try it Some of the those people will stick with it, and just may enter future contests. That is a success in my book. Count me in for #7 being Open & Invitational. We've got at least one, if not two builds that need to see the light of day first
gr8t news ! Sketchup is a very nice approach to designing. Easier to begin with than other soft like Blender (free) or 3DS / Maya / Lightwave (expensive). It does not provide very advanced tool, but that's what I like with SU. I went for 2 years in an art school after my engineering study, and I spent hundreds of hour playing with Maya and 3DS. Menus are complicated and tools need lots of training to be "friend" with. Glad we've inspired some new mates
Maybe we need to get someone to model your products and upload them to the SCC hosted by Jez.. free advertising in a way?
woah............now theres an idea for another real S/U contest.....make a S/U model of one the MNPC builds, or a custom build using at least (insert number here) different products from the MNPC store. Judging/Grading on the quality of the end result not the number of products used. All models made available in the SCC for public use, etc etc. Not a bad Idea at all really
Eeced reached mach1 ... h'es now ahead ! Nicely done * Where is my nitro ? Nitro, nitro ! I'm too heavy, I have to dispose of 100 or 200 Lbs of copper ! (Guille throwing away 2 copper screws) Oh yeeaaaaaaah much fassteeeeeeeeeer ! Wuut ?!? I'm not moving ? *
I feel really happy about the votes, even if I in the end finish 2nd (love that ruler!), 3rd or even further down (it's a long time before the voting is over afterall). It has really inspired me to perhaps build one or two (or three or four etc...) of the ideas I've had trough the years. Hmm, perhaps some wheels and jetengines from a rc jetplane could be fitted in the case. No need to carry it to a lanparty after fitting that. Oh, and btw... I stole your nitro and hid it in my closet.
I love that ruler too (and need ATX tools to sleeve my PSU cables ) Something like this jet engine from this project xould look marvelous : Airbender I knewww it ! I knewwwww iiiit ! Guaaaaaaaaard ! Guaaaaaaaaaard !
im really tempted to vote for cheaps just to see a pink case but damn there are some really good designs on here
